What ever happens, try to salvage Franco. He must not die! It's better to evacuate him out of Spain than to see him become a casualty. Every HQ is an asset to the CW...

The turn does not end - this game seems to have high dice as its default setting.....
I've begun using my own dice and import the die rolls into my game.
I do the same, although it takes a bit of will power when the computer 'rolls' the much needed 18 and I roll a 4! It's a bit like Jim Bowen on Bullseye. "Look what you could have won". [8|]

May I suggest, My Lord, that we gear up the infantry production. There is a risk that we lose more infantry units than we build. We also have more armour than we need at the moment.

Why Japan is building 2nd Cycle of Shinano when it gets the upgrade to Uber-Carrier in '42?

I think that is sensible advice - having one eye on the garrison values.

What is your thinking here? One of the two carrier conversions can still be made - By building her on the 2nd Cycle I am not stopping the carrier from being built.

The reasoning is that a replacement ship can, at best, be placed in the construction pool. And since the replacement ship will be placed in the construction pool if the original ship is in the construction pool you have then not spend any extra BPs on constructing the 2nd cycle since it will be placed back in the construction pool anyway.

RAC: 4.1.4 Replacement naval units (SiF option 9)
A few naval units have a gold box around their availability year. In a later year, replacement units will turn
up for these units. Their availability year will also be shown in a gold box. If the original unit has been removed
from the game when the replacement unit arrives, remove the replacement unit from the game.
Otherwise, during any reinforcement step, you can remove the original unit from the game and add the
replacement unit. Put the replacement unit in the force pool if the original unit is either in the force pool or in its first
cycle in the production pool or put the replacement unit in the construction pool if the original unit is in:
• the repair pool,
• the construction pool,
• on the map, or
• in its second cycle in the production pool.

Good point. That can be quite an expensive mistake. I will keep Shinano as a BB!

The Royal Navy put fleets to sea in the North Sea (Home Fleet), Bay of Biscay (Channel Force) and the Western Med (Force H). The French join the British in the latter.

Two TRS are sent to the Indian Ocean - Australian/Indian reinforcements will need to start garrisoning Malaya/Singapore and Rabaul soon.

The Queens are sent to Canada to pick up a Canadian Infantry, and two TRS are loaded with British Army units and are at sea in the Bay of Biscay.

Menawhile, US aircraft are sent to Pearl Harbor and the Soviets continue to build up forces in the Baltic's and Eastern Poland.

Fed up with their refusal to play nicely and join the Axis, the Germans and Italians declare war on Yugoslavia.

I've made a bit of a boob in my Yugoslav set-up. I forgot that Germany can align Hungary. That rather puts Prince Paul and the Mountain unit in trouble....

There will be 4 attacks this turn.

- two in Spain
- Zagreb
- China

Only in China will there be any air action. The Japanese have mis-calculated their fighter range and so the Chinese Mohawk goes into battle against two Japanese bombers.

The Allies throw first:

Round 1
14 - DA the Japanese abort their front bomber
17 - DX well that just about sums things up for the Chinese this game. With the +1 advantage they lose their fighter.... (the pilot survives)

The Chinese decide not to use their AA on this hex:

a) Fractional Odds will likely make it 3:1 anyway
b) They do not want to give the Japanese the +1
