Hi --
I had Tracker working fine with Java 6 & then I downloaded Java 7 and installed your new Java 7-compatible version of Tracker. Now I get this error:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang. Unsatisfied Link Error: no pwsdll in java.library.path

Any idea what/s going on? The java path appears to be fine:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe

I could really use some help, because I think I have tried everything I can think of and nothing seems to work.

Thanks!

Did you read the Release Notes carefully?
Support for Java 7 and Java 8. The new pwsdll7.dll file is needed in the WitPTracker folder for this to work.

Delete the trackerdb.* files.
Copy the pwsdll.dll file from the game folder to the WitPTracker folder.
Try running the WitPTracker.bat again.

Yes I did. And it's sitting right there in the WitP Tracker folder.

Are you sure you over-wrote the old .jar file with the new one? It seems to be complaining about the old pwsdll.dll file.

I assume you get the error when you do the Read Turn and not during start-up, right?

No, it happened on starting Tracker.
I took the complete new folder for Tracker, edited the properties file in the usual way, and that's the error I got on starting it.
I wonder if the problem is with Java itself. Maybe I should reinstall it.

Maarten, did you actually have it running before? I remember trying to help you but failing and you were going to get a friend nearby who had computer expertise to help.

Sorry to butt in here again, but I really could use some help. I have repeatedly tried to use the new Tracker release with Java 8 and edited appropriately for the destination folder where Java 8 was installed and WITH the new pwsdll7 in the WitP Tracker folder. (Yes, it's really there!) Yet over and over I get the same error message that I reported above:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang. Unsatisfied Link Error: no pwsdll in java.library.path

And yes, this is the new jar executable that was downloaded from the Tracker web site. Is it possible that Tracker now has to be in a different position relative to the game than it was previously? Previously I had it in its own folder in the base directory; but maybe now it has to be placed elsewhere & that's why it gets hung up looking for the appropriate dll?

Thanks for the help. I have a PBEM game going as Japan and it's impossible to play decently as Japan without Tracker's help.

P.S. I also reinstalled Java from scratch. I now have version 8.45. Same error

try copy the java.exe into the tracker folder
If I do that, would I also have to change the path definition in the Tracker BAT file?
