With no railroad link immediate reinforcement of the defenders is unlikely. Our forces attack tomorrow. The two divisions at sea should land tonight/tomorrow and will be able to continue the attack the day after, keeping up maximum pressure for a fast capture. Base forces are a few days out.

One CVE TF ran into some MTB and took a few small shell hits. They withdrew but will be back on station tonight. There were more night naval strikes this time but none connected. During the day there were heavier raids, and despite the srtike and its escort being shredded two kamikaze hit CVE Lung Point, knocking her out of the battle.

A number of IJN vessels were also destroyed when the B-29 groups from Formosa hit the port at Hiroshima/Kure (which was also mined from the air this day). Many night and day air attacks against our fleet, but no hits on ships today. CVE Lunga Point broke open and flooded, sinking from damage incurred yesterday. On the ground we had a very good attack.
