Swift has ordered his bombers back on naval attack (range at least five hexes) and they go in against the Ise TF at Rockhampton. Our fighters achieve an unbelievable kill rate vs the escorts of 31:1. Too far off the line... [8|] The bombers mostly get through though but 3x500lb bomb hits don´t do much damage on Ise. She´s now at 9 sys and 1 fire. I can keep her on station longer as Hyuga is doing her upgrade to the hybrid carrier and will join the fleet in a couple of months again(upgraded by accident as I sent her back for repairs and with sys lower than 50 she automatically was withdrawn for her upgrade). I never upgraded Ise and Hyuga but as Hyuga upgraded, I will also upgrade Ise in this game to have the two ships accompying my carriers.

and one against the agile DDs. This time at least the Kittyhawks did a bit better, with the bounce on their side (amazing again considering the fact that the escorts fly at 9.000 ft and my Cap at 25.000 ft but that´s just the usual BS made possible by radar of 25 base forces 300 miles away). The Kitties took down 3 Tojos for the loss of 2 of their own, the bombers were nearly unharmed.

the tanks attacked again, I expect to see the last two remaining inf divisions to surrender soon. This will mean that the Australian adventure will come to an end and we will take defensive positions then.

As mentioned we spotted some BBs / CAs East of Paramishiro Jima up in the far North but no bombardment happened. This turn we spotted 2 APs 6 hexes East of the base and even more important:

TBF Avenger sighting report: 1 Japanese ship at 82,35 , Speed 9 , Moving East

An Avenger spotted one of my subs one hex South East of Paramishiro Jima. So there are undoubtably carriers in this area! [X(] It is late February and this is a cold zone! Don´t know if this is really an upcoming invasion adventure of my opponent but if so then he will take three times the casualties as usual just from the landings as we´re still in winter and it´s not preferrable to land in a cold zone during winter (I had to experience that myself in another PBEM). While Paramishiro Jima and Onnekotan Jima both are mountaineous terrains and Paramishiro Jima has forts 9 already (and a lot of CD guns) I´m a bit low on garrison troops. Paramishiro has got 400 and Onnekotan has only 200 assault points. If an invasion is coming then I hope to hold out long enough to bring in reinforcements. With being still in winter, the chances for us will never be better though.
