Campaigns are in transition.

troops still landing on Java.

empire tried to leak in one last task force to Surabaya, but my CV's in the area bagged the LSD and several APD's

American fleet headed for replenishment at Rabaul prior to moving to Sorong area

reductions of Tarawa, Ailinglaplap, ternate, and ambon

Russian air space has been quiet the last few days. bet it will get busy again. Russians take toanan 107.38. We are getting much closer to cutting Manchukuo in two.

In china, the empire seems not to be responding to my incursion towards the coast. I need to decide if to go for Canton and Hong Kong.

Here is the Russia battlefield. Shoudlnt be long until I go for Harbin and Changchun

harbin is where much of the production is, so she is the main target. Plus that capture probably cuts the enemy in two.

That is my main aim this month.

Oh - the cunnundrum

I have massed a large force (12K AV) and have been attacking all comers...it now appears that the coast is in play.

Should I go for Canton and Hong Kong?

From where I have been moving, to the indo china side, the enemy forces are lightly disperse.

here is that view of Java.

I don't believe the empire is planning to do anything here but let his units die, taking as much time as possible.

RE: September 5 Sub war

Post by topeverest »

I don't post much on the sub war. At this point subs have a 50% chance of death after an attack. here is one day's sunk ships.

Note that subs took out several E's, but the empire can manufacture many of them.

I think Canton has more industry but HK has that invaluable shipyard. Choice depends on what you want the base to do for you.

How did that railroad/main road get built through southern China? Interesting.

We allow monthly rail builds as a part of this mod.

We really like that feature.

I agree that HK probably is the winner here. The usable port being the real reason I would prefer it. not that the other allies will be able to sue it for months, but to take it is important - and to cut the china rail

RE: Road and Rail Builds

Post by BBfanboy »

ORIGINAL: topeverest

We also by mutual agreement build 2 hexes of rails/roads per month not into enemy hexes. This past month, the empire built on a minor RR interior east, and the allies built rails in China. This is accomplished through the PWHEX editor and amending the bitmaps.

DEI - Cruiser surface combat at Miri (64.87). this has been a gradually escalating surface raiders as I send ships to the port. Each time the empire has had more than I sent. I just sent some French and old british CL / DD. I lost 3 DD against 2 much larger empire cruiser task forces. Looks Like I need to upgrade again and send some fletchers and an CA.

Invasion of Java going on schedule. Forces are beginning the pincer from either side of the island.

reduction activities continue at Ternate, Tarawa, Ailinglaplap, and ambon. ground combat continuing to wip out Kusai garrison.

In Russia, massive air combats rule the past days, and despite downing over 600 planes by air and AA over the last game week, the empire managed to bomb the Rybolov base into oblivion. I have been forced to pull back my air force out of range of Japan. When I capture more bases, I will be able to bring it back. At a point where he doesn't have a dozen bases to send death at me. Continue the methodical capture of Manchukuo - see next posts.

The empire tried ground attack on my main eastern force at 6K. he lost another 100 bombers to flak, plus whatever he lost to operations.

Seems that doing no air is as effective as having my air force there. ha ha

DOubt the empire will try that again.

French fleet elements had their first toe to toe. Can't say I am too impressed, I wonder if the devices the American's have really are that much better?

Don't know as I am not an expert in devices.
