On the Hello thread Zovs said "Sometimes the end is the beginning and sometimes the beginning is the end" which rather put me in mind of this absolute stonker from Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark and their 1981 album Architecture and Morality.

Warning: This track is ball-bouncingly beautiful [&o][&o]

Time for a bit of Disney me thinks. I have a Disney playlist of 44 tracks and its pretty impossible to place into an order of preference. So here are the 44 purely in order that they appear on the playlist - hopefully something for everyone.

No.1 Try Everything - Shakira (Zootropolis)

This is the theme tune to this excellent film from Walt Disney Animation Studios (but with all the excellence of a Pixar production).

No.2 Strong - Sonna Rele (Cinderella)

The first of two tracks from the live action re-make, and another uplifting theme tune to a true feel good movie.

Last one tonight

No.3 For the First Time in Forever - Idina Menzel and Kirsten Bell (Frozen)

One of three tracks from this film - a film that needs absolutely no introduction [:)]. I love the way the two ladies verses are merged together - very clever (works beautifully in the reprise too).

Speaking of Gina McKee (1917 thread) that reminds me of one of the most beautiful - and hideously sad - pieces of music to come from any film/T.V series. And I still can't buy it on itunes [:@]

The Lost Prince - Adrian Johnston

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnAgyp4-IWg

What a cast that had! Miranda Richardson, Gina McKee, Michael Gambon. Tom Hollander, Bill Nighy....

...anyway that's enough of The Lost Prince - I appear to have something in my eye.....

Back to something less likely to make one blub.... well for now anyway, there are a few on the Disney playlist later that requires a box of Kleenex as standard....

But that is not the case for the next batch of three [:)]

No.4 How Far I'll Go - Auli'i Cravalho (Moana)

This uplifting track comes from one of Disney's less memorable films from recent years (although still perfectly watchable).

Now for something completely different - not a Disney Princess in sight for this superb track.

No.5 Little Wonders - Rob Thomas (Meet The Robinsons)

The film received really mixed reviews but is worth sticking with - and this track is worth 3:33 of anyone's time.

Back to live action for the next film - well it was actually a mix of cartoon and live action (hence the music video moving from cartoon to live action).

No.6 Ever Ever After - Carrie Underwood (Enchanted)

A sweet film - with some really good comedy value - that brought Amy Adams into the spotlight.

The next batch of three features songs from three of my favourite films.

No.7 Love is an open door - Kirsten Bell and Santino Fontana (Frozen)

Firstly its back to Frozen for this sort, fun little number. The lyrics are very clever too.

No.8 Almost There - Anika Noni Rose (The Princess and the Frog)

An underrated Disney Princess and an excellent film (another great mix of feel good, tear-jerkingly sad, a touch of comedy and a brilliantly crafted villain song), gives us the next track in which the heroine explains her goal in life.

The next track is from what has to be the most underappreciated Disney film ever.

No.9 Great Spirits - Tina Turner (Brother Bear)

Phil Collins worked his magic for a second time and wrote many of the songs for this film (three will appear in this playlist) - including this opening track.

The next batch of three features a song from the beginning, the middle and the end of three great films.

Beginning

No. 10 When Will My Life Begin? - Mandy Moore (Tangled)

My favourite Disney Princess movie (overall the songs aren't as good as Frozen for example, but has some great comedy moments allied to great characters) provides this opening track.

Middle

Another track - and film - that should need no introduction. The first animation to be nominated for a best picture Oscar says it all.

No.11 Be Our Guest - Angela Lansbury and Jerry Orbach - (Beauty and the Beast)

Great music, great lyrics and superb dance sequence

End

And now for something different (as are the next few tracks)

No.12 Arcade Finale - Henry Jackman (Wreck-it Ralph)

Wreck-it Ralph was a surprise hit as once again Disney Animation Studios continue to up their game. This provides a nice bouncy end to the film.

No.13 Define Dancing - Thomas Newman (Wall-E)

Wall-E is a sweet film with a serious message. The sweetness is provided by the 'relationship' between Wall-E and Eva and this sequence is part of that - it also reminds me a little of the music for the queue for Space Mountain.

No.14 Married Life - Michael Giacchino (Up)

The second appearance of a Pixar film provides this next track. Up is not the best film Pixar have produced (although the bar is colossally high of course) but the opening 25 minutes or so of this film are simply story telling gold. A mix of comedy, heart-melting sweetness and the absolute heart-breakingly sad - and this music goes with that....

We return to the wonderful take on the Rapunzel story for this next, wonderfully melancholy offering.
