As per the map below I tried getting a battlegroup in behind the defences at Moulmein to block their retreat, this worked really well against Jo, but Cathartes has found me in this game and is rapidly pulling back, so the race is on!

As you can see my main attack forces are streaming nth, Burma is about to go all bad for the Allies... well thats the cunning plan!

Cheers

Rob

Doing Ok in Central China, Cathartes has pulled back a lot, I'm having trouble catching him. Supply is OK but tight.

jrcar-This is fantastic!! Have just gone through the whole AAR. As someone else said,"drool, drool,DROOL!"

A question. On the Hawaiian screenshot, it looks like all bases are white-which I take to mean limited troop capacity. Is that correct, first for the game and then historically? As I recall the US had 2-3 divisions there, plus all the support for air & naval.

It's hard waiting. Thanks, Hugh Browne

8-9 Jan 1942

Air opposition over Singapore has now ceased and I've switched my groups to 50% air, 50% port.

Cathartes is launching some pesky air attacks, these are an annoyance and am slowing my forces (under AE when a unit is attacked from the air, and damaged is caused, then it automatically reverts to combat fromation, from whatever mode it is in). So every now and then one of my units moves slower, annoying (realistic) but will only slow the demise a bit!

In Burma Cathates has pulled back from Moulmein just before I take it... tanks advance!

only Lautem to go now in Timor.

Sth of Darwin I'm closing in on his troops again... he is almost at Katherine.

Otherwise fairly quiet. Consolodating and preparing...

Cheers

10-11 Jan
Bombadments of Balikpapan in support of the invasion of Tarakan. The Dutch guns cause moderate damage to one of the AP's at tarakan but the troops are ashore and ready to rock and roll.

Forces at Manila and it will fall on the first attampt. Clark is strongly held, I'll take manila, clean up while the guys prep for Bataan. Air is moving forward to support.

HongKong still holding out... sod it!

China is slow and steady. Cathartes still pulling back, while I concentrate on trapping units, taking the important bases to my plans... and planning :)

I need to review industry, still not shipping enough resorses to meet demand, and the stcok ppile drops about half a day every two days.

Also need to increase some engine production as well.

Cathartes and I are both very busy with RL work. We are going to upgrade again (we are about 3 versions of the software behind at the moment) but will continue with this game. This may cause issues... hope not!

So the AAR will continue at this slow pace, the benefit of 2 day turns is we are still doing about 6 days in the sim for 7 days in RL!

Any requests or questions?

Cheers

Rob

Rob,

Nik and I have upgraded from 1058 through 1062 with no (bad) issues - so should be able to as well. We haven't done much in the way of fundamental art upgrades in a while and that makes the code upgrades less risky.

Odin,

As to having this map for stock - well it is about as possible as it could be - just use Andrew's map for the stock game.

It will be interesting to see how long Singapore and Manilla hold out as well. I still remember losing Hong Kong occasionally on the third or fourth turn in WITP which seemed a little sudden. [X(] Maybe AE will remedy this.

Hong Kong is holding because I rushed the initial attack (in part to show what happens!).

Manila will fall, only some BF holding it. Bataan will be more interesting.

How long Singapore holds depend on if the reinforcements were sent there (I don't think they were). Singapore is tough for the Japanese, if you rush, or if you leave it too long!

Waiting on a turn, I'm travelling all next week, but have WITP on my laptop.

Cheers
