At this point should you just pull those units back to the Volga? There really isn't anything to defend anymore, and I guess the far South has to fend for itself - maybe you can use naval transport from Astrakhan to send additional units once you fall back?

It is last turn of summer, so I will make some attacks and withdraw during mud.

I suspect all this movement of your units in the southeast, trying to put pressure on his flanks, causes lots of fatigue for your forward units; even if the Axis are tired your CV takes a hit for those units moving up.

It would be nice to get an update on this game as it sounds really interesting and developps in a surprising way. I would really like to see how the Soviets can stabilize the situation an try to get on track.

T69 center (Soviet)

I am so weak, that I can launch only 3 attacks, so few even knowing Saper won't be able to launch strong counter-attacks next turn I.

Great withdrawal to Volga line started, rest of troops will follow next turn. Weakening Saper's panzers had priority.

Situation is worse than it seems, because it is necessary to subtract 55k soldiers from my OOB - encircled cavalry army.

It looks to me that the divisions anchoring your right wing with Forts level 1 are not anchoring much and you could find yourself with another set of Rifle and tank corps surrounded against the Caspian See if he goes for a short lef hook... Very dangerous.

It is mud now, so nothing dangerous will happen there. At least I hope so.

T70 far south-east (Soviet)

March towards Astrakhan continues. I ship some of my troops to Makhachkala, unfortunately shipping in Caspian Sea region is very limited.

In the meantime part of cavalry army was destroyed - 2 cav corps and 1 inf div, overall 30k brave lads gone west.

T71 far south-west (Soviet)

Only one German attack this turn - against encircled formations.

New units - 4 inf div, 1 cav div. Unfortunately I had to spend majority of AP points (New front arrived so I had plenty) on reactivation of tank brigades and creation of tank corps. This is consequence of Sapers's successful summer offensive - I had to create great number of infantry corps to give myself chance of countering his moves. (chance that I have failed to take)

This time I haven't forgotten to move troops in western Caucasus.

More of the same here. Withdrawal in the north, digging trenches in the south.

Remnants of cavalry army were destroyed - 2 cav corps, 1 inf div, overall 26k soldiers.
