Well that was slightly annoying I lose a few LCT's and PT Boats for 2 IJN DD's

What a complete WASTE buna is a lvl 1 AF why on earth would he raid it when he knows I Have PT Boats on site

This just drives me nuts it was a pointless raid on a base and I made him pay for it - he is going to need those DD's in 43.

Why would he risk tangling with PT Boats - if he thought he could hurt me somehow perhaps its worth it but I only have 30 planes at Buna

All the effort is going into building up Dobodura thats the REAL target a raid there could delay the build up of the base.

Sometimes I just dont understand why Japanese players act the way they do - is there some valid reason for hittig a lvl 1 base with highly valuable ships in the teeth of PT Boats and allied naval air that I am unaware of ?

I was quite happy with todays fights

By his onw admission Pauk has only lost about 10 DD's to my PT Boats while I have lost 90+ PT BOats sorry that doesnt seem out of whack to me far from it .

OK commentary on yesterdays turn (having an internet connection at work makes AAR's so much easier[:D][:D][:D])
 
All quiet really my forces are converging on the Marshalls
 
I have 4 Fleet and 4 Light Carriers covering the invasion and I am assembling a force of LR Fighters and FB's in the Gilberts to support the attack
 
My first Sqn of Apaches has deployed and as soon as the fighters are repaired will be ready for ground attacks.
 
Targets are Mili, Maloep and Majuro I will leave Kwaj and Entiwok for a little later.
 
The Western TF will hit Majouro the Eastern will hit Mili, Maloep will be hit by follow on forces in due time

Ah bollocks my raid on Rabaul went horribly wrong my sweeping P47's got lost and went to Siador by mistake the B24's and P38's got massacred.

Well I did the turn last night wile paralytic and got what I deserved

Landings at Mili went ok actually lots of LCT damadaged but they are expendable

I forgot to set my navy aviators to land attack and they impaled themselves on KB

I figure that means surface ships tonight. With so many BB's out of action I think discretion may be the better part of valour so I will bug out back to Tarawa again !!!!

Last few turns have been quiet I really tried to go to fast I should have equipped all sqns with Hellcats before proceeding and I got spanked for it.
 
Time is moving on and I need to get going forward but wioth PDU's its just so hard to do

So what happens then ? Do you leave your stranded troops to their fate, a la Kavieng in your game versus PZB, and you will come back eventually ?

na I will just wait until I get some another carrier from Centpac and some more Hellcats and go in hard.

Mili is different from Kavieng at Kavieng I had a hostile Rabaul in my rear Mili is the 1st step and I can cover it from the south in fact if he reinforces it will help future operations.

I may need to bring the RN into play though

Pauk has actually been very successfull in damaging my BB's he hasnt sunk that many but I have lots in dry dock.

(p.s. just bought my mum a Dell pc it came pre installed with so much junk on 90 day trial that it keeled over after 3 days - gits so no turns for me until I get back south uits taken 10 hours to rebuild the fekker - getting broadband drivers over a dial up connection is far form ideal as of course dell forgot to include the system disks !!!!)

Mingo looks to be hit hard time to start paying more attention to Sub Warfare

I will re group over the next few days and decide what to do to resolve the Marshalls situation.

I have a few cunning plans for late 43 operations but I need to assume that all my Japanese opponents read PZB and/or my side of that AAR and therefore know how I think its time to shake it up a little and damage some of the certainty.
