RE: Allied TF Behaviour
We did miss an opportunity that turn. We turned around South Dakota because Yamato was parked at PH. In the event, Yamato pulled back and ran into our retreating PT boats and then Nagato came in for a night bombardment.
South Dakota and her escorting CL and DD's could have taken Nagato.
Also in a bold move, Kinugasa and 2 DD 's engaged the ammo-depleted St. Louis and her 4 DD's in a daylight battle E of Exmouth and seemingly within range of our hotshot SBD's at Carnovan. Two USN DD's will need shop time.
This is why human opponents are more fun that the AI [:)]

...the die roll although was stupendious! 4K LYB's!
We have been working on our die rolls. It is much easier than reading the manual.
Does this mean you have sub contracted it out to M & M Enterprises, Lotteries Division, hq Atlantic City?

Not an unattractive aircraft (except for the tail)
We talking about planes still?

I think those are elliptical wings? If so they can not be a very good design for a bomber .. The VMC fully loaded I would think to be a problem ... a sudden snap and then spin right after getting hit ...or are they just rounded off "hersery bars?"

She was designed before turbochargers were in vogue. The wings flap during attack to provide extra horsepower.

Well turbocharges or not .. when either the wings stop flapping or the engine loses power, and the twin becomes a single with the weight of two engines and a windmilling prop .. well there are better wing designs [:D] As a pilot I have to be thinking that short fat fuselage with the small tail surface is going to make quite a ride when it snaps over toward the now shot up critical engine ....[;)]

Ansons ... but you left out the Wapitis! [X(]
I strongly suggest that you contact some subcontractor to build upp Corunna Downs so you can add those fearsome airframes to the mayhem. Can't let the Anson pilots one-up them, can we?
The Wapiti are on their way to Oz via Persian Gulf dhow. They stopped in Seychelles to recaulk the deck timbers and we haven't heard from them since.
Corunna is still in Jap hands. We will have to think of something.

RE: Allied TF Behaviour
Try Faraway Downs. Nicole Kidman will make the engineers work faster.

J.J. Dewey, Esq.: Colonel Toyoda, my clients are prepared to offer well above market value, given the unpleasant circumstance.
Col. Toyoda: Unpreasant?
J.J. Dewey, Esq.: Yes, hostilities I mean. Do you realize what has happened to real estate values in Northern Australia since...well...you know?
Col. Toyoda: Rear estate varues?
J.J. Dewey, Esq.: Yes, they have completely tanked. Sure, Adelaide still has sales but anything North of Alice Springs is nuclear.
Col. Toyoda: Nucrear?
J.J. Dewey, Esq.: Ah, forgive me. That is a bit anachronistic. That will make sense soon enough.
Col. Toyoda: What about Japanese base?
J.J. Dewey, Esq.: Yes, we anticipated that concern. My clients are prepared to offer a lease back arrangement for 50% of the property.
Col. Toyoda: Rease back? What rease back?.............

Yes..it's All Hallows Eve what did it. First there is the drinking and then there are all the left-over Snickers.
Pocahantas-girl, the divorcee neighbor with the new bolt-ons, threw quite a fun Halloween party on Saturday. Alas, there were no 20 somethings so there were no mermaids with seashell tops this year but Pocahantas-girl wore quite an interesting micro skirt cop outfit with fake tatoos on her bolt-ons (I think they were fake..I had to make myself not look). Only later, when the DJ started did I realize she was commando too. Santa Maria! <crosses self> Honestly, it might have just been a floss-related wardrobe malfunction but I was trying not to look again. Stalker Girl was not amused. I got lazy and decided to use my Club Gitmo orange detainee jumpsuit and a beard and turban. I was detainee number 456, U'lika'm'dik. After about an hour the beard was driving me nuts so I pulled it down under my chin and I was instantly converted to an Amish guy doing community service for drunk driving.
The hostess had a Mayan working for her passing out the jello shots , then when she had done her damage, she went around asking guests having vestibular problems if they wanted something to eat. [:D] She asked Stalker Girl if she wanted something to eat. She was not amused for a second time.

Oz: Indeed, Port Hedland is turning into a bare-fisted brawl. We send in the B-24's and B-17's and medium bombers and they send in Nells and Yamato. Yamato could not have rearmed in one day so she must have not be out of ammo. Some of the Nells were escorted by Zeroes so they must be coming from Wyndham, which is repairing. There are also a few zeroes now operating from PH it seems. 3 B-26 and an RAAF Mitchell II were shot down.
Even with the throw weight of Yamato, it is likely we did more damage than they. Plus, they will have some serious disrutption to shed after they were repulsed on the previous day. Br 2nd Div is SERIOUSLY disrutped (70%) and East Africa Brig isn't in very good shape either. US 32nd ID, on the other hand is recovering nicely.
Except for a small attack on the airfield and a few B-25's on naval attack, every operational bomber that can reach Port Headland from Meekathara, Carnavon, Perth and Geraldton is on ground attack. Before we send the carriers back, we will have to pound the rubble at Wyndham and Broome again.

I would like to open official nominations for Cap's 2012 Halloween costume. Suggestion #1 a 'Girls Gone Wild' cameraman (a Producer or Corporate Attorney with release forms partner costume might be included if Cameraman supervision is deemed prudent/necessary). Added bonus for the Forums would be inclusion of a functioning camera as you seem to get to better Halloween parties than exist in my area...

I think the key features of a good halloween Party are:
1) Free booze
2) Decent weather (to encourage skimpy costumes)
3) Good looking women to wear the skimpy costumes (this can be the hardest part to acheive)
I had to walk Stalker Girl back home about 11 PM because she had a sudden onset severe vestibular problem of idiopathic origin. The moon had already set and the streetlight was out and it was crystal clear. Half way across the street she says, "WAIT"
"Wait what?"
"Look!" She tilts her head back.
I look up expecting to see a meteor shower or a UFO.....nothing. "Those are stars"
"I know, but look how many there are."

There was actually a guy in a skimpy costume too. He had on running warmup pants but no shirt and then he had thong cheetah pattern undies yanked up above his fat belly. He must have weighed in at 280 and had pelt on his back that would make a chinchilla proud. Then he had Benjamins tucked into his G-string thingy.
Pretty funny. He had a least 2 grand in Benjamins in his wallet. His wife was a seriously hot pirate wench who would have been way out of his league if not for his....sense of humor....I guess.
He said he owned several Hooters. I think he meant the restaurants.

Oz: JJ sent in Kinugasa and 2 DD to raid Exmouth at night. One Jap DD was roughed up pretty badly by the 3 DD's on duty there:
Hull
Isaac Sweers
Fortune
A true international force.
Nells bombarded Br. 2nd Div again. 2 B-25's were lost in raids over PH but again, Allied ground attacks did more damage. We will have to see about a LRCAP of P-38's over PH next turn.

Is it worth using Wessel Islands as a base to interdict the sea route into Darwin?
