I put my entire tracker folder in my Dropbox in an attempt to keep the tracker database synced between two PCs to play on. This did not work. Is the tracker.data file not where the information is stored?

TIA

Tracker reads the game saved file.

Hello Alfred,
I have a similar question for you;

Say I am working on my next turn set up and just complete orders for all my Australian units and save in Save slot 9 and close WITP AE. Then open up that save the next day to work on units in Sumatra. If I run Tracker will it update with all the Australian moves I made before I start work on Sumatra units. Or does it only run after you complete all orders and complete that turn? Thx in advance!

Tracker will only update after the complete turn resolution.
Then you have to save the turn back into the same slot.

Ignore I sorted it..........

Ok been using Tracker since it was released for my PBEM games, decided to set up a game against the AI. One silly question, which savefile number do I use?

Roger,

Try editing the "WitPTracker.bat" file in your Tracker install directory (any text editor will do). Keep everything else the same, but edit the "-Xms" and "-Xmx" switches to read: "-Xms512m -Xmx768m". This will give Tracker a little more memory to play with and may solve your map issue as well. FYI, those memory settings are the limit of what Tracker can use - it does not seem to like additional memory allocations beyond 512/768.

That said, I've had good luck with using Tracker on those memory settings.

im useing the same settings, but at some point i always have to switch to the nomap version. there is just too much data afte x amount of turns to be handled. you can delete the datafiles to make the mapversion work later but u´ll have to deal with the loss off data history (for example u delete the files at dec 31st every year, and have jan 1st as "turn 1" shown)

There is a hard limit to the database size (2GB IIRC), which usually manifests sometime in '43. I usually just archive the database and start a new one tracking new moves. The good news is not all historical data will be lost - some of it will be picked up again when a new turn is loaded. All of the individual turn details WILL be lost - but cumulative data such as ships sunk will reappear.

Under the Supply&Fuel tab I have only 2 regions. How do I get multiple regions as I do under the oil&resource tab.

Oil/resource tab. I even tried DL an old tracker to get the Fullregions_txt but that did not work either.

Import the regions. Some screens don't update immediately, so you need to restart the program for the import to fully "take".
Delete the trackerdb.* files.
Copy the pwsdll.dll file from the game folder to the WitPTracker folder.
Try running the WitPTracker.bat again.

Hi,

quick question:

can I combine more regions together? Something like China and Burma in a big region.

Yes.

You can do it manually in the Bases screen by clicking on the region cell and setting a different value.
Or edit the region file itself to be what you want and then import it.
Delete the trackerdb.* files.
Copy the pwsdll.dll file from the game folder to the WitPTracker folder.
Try running the WitPTracker.bat again.

Sorry for the late response!

My question was not so clear, I mean keeping two values togheter, i.e. Hokkaido and Honshu that can be tracked separated but then merged in a big region without to change the values manually.
Anyhow after few days using the Tracker I think it is not possible.

No, during their development it was something that Damien, Floyd and I discussed, but it did not happen.

Yeah, we didn't implement any "nesting" of regions.
Delete the trackerdb.* files.
Copy the pwsdll.dll file from the game folder to the WitPTracker folder.
Try running the WitPTracker.bat again.

Get an error during loading. Tracker was working just fine for some 90 turns and suddenly it stopped working. [&:] Reinstalled Java but didn't help.

You've run out of memory. maybe try boosting how much space you allocate in your execution line. Or maybe try shutting off some of the background programs running before you try to start Tracker? I'm not really sure how to fix this but it seems like one of these remedies might help.
