RE: 1945 June 15
Do you have PTs/MGBs to tangle with his at night?
Would attack bombers and/or fighter bombers at night flying low Nav work against those little boats?
Instead of destroying units on Kyushu, would it be better to push the remnants to Fukuoka to overwhelm the quartermasters there? Possibly leading to overstacking limit penalties? Then a nice, slow grind of bombardments to soften them up?

Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

RE: 1945 June 15
I have been meaning to mention too, I really want that 90,000 ton repair shipyard at Nagasaki/Sasebo. I have lots of CVE that need it! I also was thinking that location was Urban Heavy or Light, but it's actually Clear terrain. I'm sure fortifications will be high due to Nagasaki/Sasebo being a prime target.ORIGINAL: RangerJoe

Yes, at Kochi and they have intercepted them sometimes but not this time. I haven't put any at Kumamoto yet but I will

I doubt it but I've never tried.

Fukuoka means they can 'get away' to Honshu, so I would rather not. Anything I can destroy sooner is less to deal with later.

OK, "just because" here is a test inside a quote block of all the fonts the forum has. It looks like we might have struck pay dirt.

We destroyed only one enemy unit today so there are plenty remaining; hopefully with little real fight in them. 4,308 AV for us right now but that will be plenty to clean up. A few of our most beat up units are being pulled out, which will also reduce overcrowding.[font="Tahoma"]Shanghai Imperial LCUs Present

RE: 1945 June 16
Home Islands west. No ground action but the now expected night strikes on both bases and ships, plus MTB attacks.
Kumamoto has built the air complex to size 4 and landed numerous additional units. The sea lift is still underway. 325,000 supply is on hand. Approximately 175 P-47N and 24 night Hellcats operate from the expanded runways.
Yesterday recon of Nagasaki/Sasebo showed 18 units, 34,260 troops, 339 guns, and 131 AFV. Today shows 18 units, 34,660 troops, 344 guns, and 134 AFV. One division plus all the artillery arrived today and two more divisions will arrive tomorrow. The first attack is ordered for tomorrow, so those two divisions will miss it and be ready to attack the following day.
The additional division is now in Kurume and is being ordered NE to Fukuoka. Just unloaded at Kumamoto, another division and several armored units will also make straight for Fukuoka while three artillery units move to Kagoshima to support matters there.
Kagoshima is down to about 38,000 troops as the Imperials flee to the east under continuing air strikes.

RE: 1945 June 16
Well, with this China is finally all green. Pity about the trashed shiptard at SShangai, but still useful. Those units will take a while to be completely wipep off though...
Manila looks like another place that will take a while.
Any ETA for Tsu?

RE: 1945 June 16
I might start loading the transports next turn. I need to find some of the British FAA groups for a couple of carriers that arrived empty, and I need to pull back the USN fleet CV still covering troop convoys transiting the waters west of Kumamoto. Increased fighter strength at Kumamoto plus other bases should cover that pretty well, though not perfectly. So basically we are about ready to begin loading, say within the next three turns for sure.ORIGINAL: Drakanel

The Shanghai shipyard is big enough to be useful right now but I don't want to start using it until the base is secured.
