It is curious. 9200 troops cannot be the full 33rd Div can it? Yet it is not a subunit. At least with Allied units you need to almost get all the support troops ashore during a landing for it to behave like the intact unit. Presumably it is the same for the IJA. Was the 33rd Div just badly attritted in Luzon or do disabled troops not show up in the combat report?

I'd say the support troops have not been landed yet. For opposed amphib landings I am sure the algorithm lands the combat squads first.

Several days were displaced. The SouPac sexretary spilled coffee all over the logbook,


Sumatra: Allies endeavor to trap and destroy the two IJA divisions holding Medan and the surrounding area. US 40th ID, several Aussie Brigades, 2 Brit brigades and an Indian Div and an East African brigade. Not all the units are at full strength because it is hard to get ashore at Sibolga which has a crappy little pier of floating steel barrels and palm logs.
