No Equipment Update? What did I pay $40 for?

Here's what I'm not understanding, why couldn't the game developers have added new equipment to the game?  Although I would have preferred some sort of equipment editor so I could do it myself (I'll grant that due to the fact that I don't know the technicalities code involved that one may have been a convenience too far), it wouldn't have bothered me so much if the developers had simply updated the equipment list with modern and near-future equipment.  As it is as far as I can tell I paid $40 for a patch.  They don't even charge that for expansion packs and you get a lot more out of those.

We're still working on it. Development should be done, I missed one strange thing that TOAW was doing. It's off to the testers now.

In the not too distant past there was quite a bit of discussion about incorporating unit values into the SCE file. Is this a serious consideration for the TOAW future? As an alternative, maybe customized unit files could be used in the same manner as we now used Alternative Graphic files.

We certainly want to avoid a proliferation of execution files like we experienced with COW.

..hey, i just punch buttons, don't get all xml'y on me, i really don't do that stuff..

..ye see, in 86 i had a choice, program a computer, or go out into the fresh air and plant cabbages, the cabbages won..

..ok so a fine piece of a** was also planting cabages but mmmmm, i was always a sucker for a well-shaped female etc and fresh air...
