I'm gonna start a war here.

If you want the best traction, not the best looks, go for Nokia tires.  Their NRW tires are the only all-season radials that are winter snow tire rated in Canada.  Not too cheap but not expensive.  (something about a compound to keep the rubber supple yet long-wearing)

They are Finnish and if they don't know how to make a good traction tire then no-one can.

After all this, we just spent $270 to get new break pads and an oil change for my wife's car (a 2003 Saturn). Damn. Now, the Saturns are great cars, but once the warranty runs out you're screwed on replacement parts. $150 for break pads? You gotta be freakin kidding me. [X(]

At least you don't have an Enzo, you have to switch the rotor with the second brake pad change... Sets you back about 40,000 USD

sorry guys but can't say i've ever had any luck with anything north american. gotta stick with european - saab is my all time fav, have a 97 900s and still works great, never any problems. very reliable. Had a dodge some years ago and all the paint fell off!!!! it looked like it had some disease...

That is an occasional problem with dodge cars. Every once in a while someone at the plant must sleeping and don't add the right paint mixture in the bucket.

i was glad when someone finally took that car off my hands. did pretty good though sold it when it was 14yrs old and about 80,000k on it for $500! the speedo didn't work for years after an accident I had that why the kilometres were so low! [:D]
but the whole experience put me off dodge cars.

..nice, very efficient local mechanic, and cheap bits..

..i give it to him, every couple'a months, he replaces as new..

..come on i've done in (by my standards) one set of off-road tyres in 6 months..**

..and no, i avoid the swamps, my wheel-base is too short..altho, on coconut fronds i'm light enough to pass the minor ones..
