Yes, we're getting pretty darn close to a release candidate.

Oh please; don't get me all worked into a frenzy of expectation unless you really mean it. I refuse to believe anything until I see a GOLD announcement. I refuse to allow myself to be put in a vulnerable position that could lead to crushed hopes of a release soon. I can't; I won't!

Rejoice! Time to go out and buy a pointy helmet, cause there will be a new Kaiser in town! And this time I won't have to feel guilty for always playing the Germans (like I do when I play the Axis in WWII games)! No clear good or bad guys!

After that last artillery blast by Erik, it seems it is now "All quiet on the western front."

Yes, I log in every day in hopes of seeing that GOLD announcement. I will find it hard to believe it is true when I actually see it. It has been such a long journey.

I'm logging in every 2 hours or so... [:D]

WWI is one of my favorite subjects to teach in my Freshman Western civ class, despite the fact that I have about 10 poorly written papers to grade on Wilfred Owen and McCrae.

Dulce et decorum est, anyone?

Guys,

Just a bit of clarification. Things are looking good from the code and testing side. There's still more documentation and production work to be done, but that is generally a predictable and certain process, which means that we have a pretty good idea internally of when this will be ready to go gold now. That process starts with getting a release candidate together, so we're not at the point of an imminent gold announcement yet, but we are at the point that I would call the final and predictable stretch. I'll keep you all in the loop as we progress in the release candidate process.

Regards,

- Erik

Thanks for the heads up then! I figured that we were several days, or even weeks away, but checking the forums is a nice break from grading papers...

I think that it was what was known as a Chinese barrage.

By all means feel free to make a prediction then. We won't hold you to it of course...[:D]

Yes of course, I really didn't expect to see a GOLD announcement in a few days. I am just chomping at the bit. Maybe an early August release would be reasonable and appropriate.[;)]
