Turn 5:
The three para-companys of I Battalion continue their drive north unimpeded, although several under-strength British rifle platoons are spotted in the distance.
Back at I Battalion HQ, Major Gause has some cause for concern.
His right flank is terribly exposed, and while he doesn't doubt the capabilities of his men, the advance up Stone Road seems a bit
too easy. Not to mention the fact that there has been no reports of enemy artillery and his troops have yet to sight a single enemy tank. He knows for a fact the British aren't just going to play defense and let the Germans overtake them village by village on their drive to London.
In other words, his instincts warn him of a British counter-attack.
Fortunately, elements of Major Schmetzer's II Battalion have just been placed under Major Gause's direct command.
He orders 5th Company to head for the village of Ottinge and to occupy abandoned British defenses, while 6th Company will head north and occupy other abandoned British defenses just to the east of Sixmile Cottage in Park Wood.
