Tassafaronga and Guadalcanal are secure, the  last remnants of the Imperial garrison have been swept away

fighting continues on Tulagi, and is expected to continue a while longer

i intend to bring up the 147th RCT from Noumea which has just arrived, and to turn Tulagi into an anchorage and major naval base. a transport force sailed from Lunga yesterday, bound for Noumea

The Munda force, set sail from Lunga yesterday as well, and landings begin tomorrow. according to recon, Munda is totally deserted, and shouldnt present any problems

The Munda force consists of nearly 18000 troops, including base forces and Seabees, as well as the garrison force, which will be provided by the 112th Cav Regt

the force is under the command of Rear Admiral Draemel, since i  couldnt find Turner, and is covered by a VMF based at Russells and all 4 of Mitschers carriers and Admiral Lees surface force, and i intend to bring up fuel and PT boats, so raids can be made on Shortland. unfortunate that i have no AGPs [:(]

Munda Landings

Post by marky »

he left sum mines for me, how nice [:D]

Gilmer will make it, but shes out of the war for a while, shell be sent to Brisbane after temp repairs

2 destroyers damaged in earlier fighting have been repaired pretty well at Brisbane, and will escort a sub tender to Lunga
ive released the minesweepers to sweep independently and formed some PTs, more are on their way

Lee will continue to cover the landings, as will Mitscher, the carriers are moving up, and ive moved additional fighters into Russells along with PBYs and sum beaufighters, i LOVE these Beaufighters, excellent range and good capabilities

3rd 11th and 14th Seabees are with the Munda force, 7000 men are already ashore

Kiriwina is nearly lvl 4, its at about 45%

Munda Taken

Post by marky »

Munda is mine, the Seabess are already expanding the airfield

3 PBY squadrons have been flown in. PTs are on the way, more have been released from the convoy, unloaded ships are heading for Lunga to pcik up base forces and seabees, i wanna swallow up the Solomons ASAP

and another fighter squadron has been moved into Russells to help provide cover for Munda

Bombers from Gili Gili will hit the Japs on the Kokoda track tomorrow, while bombers from PM will hit Buna

As soon as Munda has a lvl 2 AF, the fighters at Russell will be moved there, and Russells will become a PBY base

Munda Taken

Post by marky »

Mundas AF is nearly lvl 1, its at 70%

Kiriwinas is about 70% as well, nearing lvl 4

Lungas port is near the max, soon as it is ill shift to forts

more unloaded ships heading for Lunga

soon as an empty TF is ready at GG ill load base forces for Kiriwina

then ill be able to start sending medium bombers at Rabaul

Since the carriers are down to 18% of max sorties, ive stood down all carrier bombers and put all fighters at 100% CAP, and they and the fleet train are withdrawing south

no carrier battle this time

every ship bigger than a PT or SC are sailing for Noumea at flank speed

besides the fact that the carriers need replenishing, they also need fuel, due to Swifts targeting of the fleet train, im short on oilers, and they neeed replacement planes and pilots

add to that i dont know how many carriers are with Combined Fleet, the prudent course of action is to withdraw south...

but, about 200 bombers including Liberators and Forts, are ordered to scout and attack, as well as 15 Avengers from Lunga

batten down the hatches...
