Here's the situation in the south. Don't want to show my units because this way Seille would know their exact strength and i prefer if he has to guess if his recon info is correct.

I am trying a new concept in the south. AG Romania's main goal was to distract some of Seilles southern forces. It worked imho. AG Don now pinned down significant soviet forces while fast elements of AG south did cut off the road. It is not yet a full pocket, but because all soviet forces there had to fight during their turn their readiness is only medium, so i doubt the will escape.

Also fast elements of AG Don already cut the road Moscow-Grozny and they threaten the sowjet forces that currently fight vs. AG Romania to be cut off if they try to follow AG Romanias tactical withdrawal.

Kill loss ratio also has been pleasantly in favor of the germans for a winter turn :). Seille is trying to copy my infantry force composition and builds horse mobilized rifle/smg hordes with some mortar support. Fortunately i could overrun many of them in preventive strikes.

P.S.: Turn sent

I hate the winter ^^. But Seille did spread his forces too much. In the south that leads to several medium catastrophes for the soviets. For example we overrun a soviet artillery stack without losses.

Damn, i hoped my defenders would stop you before reaching the bridge and the artillery.
Next time i´ll destroy it :(

And i had to spread my forces for multiple reasons.

1. protecting north south connection
2. Baku
3. Murmansk

Especially Murmansk and Baku i should not lose to keep the production balance.

But imho you had only enough forces for 2 of those objectives. Objective 1 is the least important imho.
Also i wonder where your 4 siberian shock armies are, haven't seen them yet i think.

Quite funny is that the germans are now basically fighting with russian late WW2 strategies whereas the russians fight with german late war strategies.

Turn 13/February 17 1942 aka the turn when the soviet winter offensive ends.
Stalingrad is easily captured with a concentric attack from 5 sides and some soviet overstacking.

Seille deploys his airforce in front of moscow very forward. 1-2 of our ground units can do a limited ground attack with 30ish or 40ish aps.

But the shock army is quite strong, unlikely that an attack will break through. So we use 2 artilleries with 40 and 60 ap left to slightly soften them up and attack with our airforce then first. Despite the soviets have more airforce we decide the airbattle for us.

Then a bloodbath occurs, 3 german units get nearly wiped out trying to overrun the ground defenders, but our final wave accomplishes a breakthrough. Such a prey is worth sacrificing 200 soldiers.

Looks like you smashed his airforce there. What else has he got to defend with?
Have you encountered/made contact the Siberien Überforce yet?

In the endless Leningrad forests our brave Finns overrun an enemy artillery stack.

Yep found them finally. 3 are showing up on the leningrad front and one was guarding the planes in the smolensk area. Wiped out one of the leningrad sibirian units and the one guarding the planes. Killed about 40% of one other leningrad front sibirian unit.

Has been a bloody turn. Looks like the war is finally won

The fronts at the end of my turn, this time i show everything.

Heeresgruppe Nord/Finnen:

The only front that looks somewhat good for the soviets. Might maybe lose this armygroup in the next turn. It has achieved it's purpose though and killed legions of soviets and distracted them from the more important fronts.

Heeresgruppe Mitte:

Nearly no sowjet forces with combat power left.

Heeresgruppe Süd:

Wiped out the stalingrad defenders. Only "skeletons" of the former units survived with 1-2% of their former strength.

And finally Heeresgruppen Don and Antonescu:

Finished pocketing those soviet troops from last turn. Ignored them then. Shall they wither or try to break out and bleed to death. Don is heading straight to Baku and the romanians tried to recapture maikop. The city defenders managed to hold, but the rest of the soviet defenders there got basically wiped out.

SURRENDER RUSSIA !

Post by seille »

Ok enough. I don´t want to look in that turn.
The loss of my center planes is too much.

And the sad thing is you Boron NOTHING for that success.
But i know how good artillery works especially upgraded and concentrated. But i still never expected
you can overrun that field so easy since it was protected by a siberian unit + a second unit.
(The other siberians i just renamed to confuse Boron a bit)

The problem is that the germans get ALWAYS the first turn of good weather.
In the modified version i work on this will be changed, so the german turn will still have
russian bonus. This is just fair and prevent the germans from massive counterattacks.
They are as player one always in the better position. And this just because they are player one !

German 1942 bonus doesn´t end after german turn. It ends AFTER the russian turn, so no russian counterstrikes
possible. Seems to be not fair.
However in our game this would NOT have made a difference. Boron was just better. He used his units with very high effectivity,
had the right unit compositions (even unrealistic sometimes [:D]) and used my mistakes (Leningrad for example).

I´ll now play a game as German against him using 1.11. I´m sure this won´t be much easier.
