Ok, so I found the issue with the missing vehicles. This was a data bug related to a change in the last two weeks pre-release. We forgot to add a field to a few units in boot camp, so they are coming in at zero "effective" strength. You are given enough points to fill them back out though until this is fixed. Just click on each unit in your purchase screen when you start a Boot Camp scenario and click on the "Replace Losses" button if it shows up to bring them back up to full strength.

Apologies for this, I should have triple-checked Boot Camp right before release.

No worries; it sounds like I need to learn how to use the "replace losses" button anyway. :) Thanks for your continued support of this excellent game.

I think we'll add a bit more of a warning to the campaign briefing in the next update to let gamers know how challenging it can be. I'll say this though, once you all master Boot Camp you'll likely look back and wonder why it was so hard. The learning curve can be difficult sometimes, but it's worth the climb - the view from the top once you get there is great. [8D]

True, but if your too (fill in the blank) you may never make the climb.

Just a thought on the artillery. It was mentioned earlier in this thread about a 50% chance of availability, and then a player said he went through a whole scenario without getting a "green light" (my words, not his). Just wondering if it would be reasonable to have a 50% on "first try" to increase by say 5% per additional try, over the course of the scenario?

Actually, that was almost certainly a menu bug that we did not discover before release but know about now and are fixing. If you keep the HQ squad selected and never select another squad from phase to phase, then the HQ squad's menu does not "update", meaning the artillery remains gray even though the HQ squad is in contact. Selecting a different squad and then the HQ squad again clears this and resolves the issue (as a work-around).

Okay, I got the beta patch and the button still does not highlight. Workaround: Pick another squad and then select HQ again and it lights up like a christmas tree.

Yes, the beta patch does not fix the menu issue yet. It fixed the issue with some of the Boot Camp units needing to "Replace Losses" before a mission.

Hi WhiteOwl,

Don't worry, that's actually one of the toughest Boot Camp scenarios to get the hang of. Did you read the suggestions in the briefing?

You need to make careful use of smoke, putting it in the right places and rushing your infantry forward under its cover. If you have more infantry in the church area than the enemy, you will flip control of the objective and win. It doesn't require you to eliminate all the enemy unit, just to capture the church by getting enough squads to survive to make it there.

Regards,

- Erik
