Heading into the last month of the season, it's obvious that the Dodgers have several needs to address. The pitching staff is aging, and there are holes in the lineup. I will be aggressive in adding youth/potential to our team.

With war having broken out in Europe, I don't know how this might affect MLB. I'll monitor this crisis on a day-to-day basis. I've already contacted the commissioner's office to determine our status if conscription is enacted.

KG,
I wonder who will show up in the Ammy Draft that you could grab. Seems like in my leagues alot of good pitchers were not picked each year.

Thursday, Sept 7. The Cards lead the Reds by 7 games. The Dodgers are out of the pennant race, being 25.5 GB. In the AL, the Yankees lead the Indians by 9 games. We have a four-game homestand, and then hit the road for 17 days.

On a positive note, Luke Hamlin is within two starts of winning 20 games. He will be given ample opportunity to reach this goal.

Don

Don, several good players will be available in 1940. Hal Newhouser is amongst them. Given my house rules on trading, I may be able to acquire some talent during spring training. The Dodgers' main goal THIS year is to reach .500. I'm 11 games under .500, with 26 games left to play. So, rather than giving young players many starts, I'm gonna go "die hard".

Go Cardinals!

I have to play the Cards a few more times, and believe me, I'll be looking to knock them down. [;)] IF St. Louis wins the pennant, I'll definitely be rooting for them in the World Series.
