You are the smiling one I take it...if not, you aren't happy I wouldn't think...
why is there a seal on your boat? were you going clubbing again JWE?
Shoot, 7 hours of 2 knots or less of breeze, makes anyone a bit testy. All frikkin night long after the San Diego hole .. the horror, the horror.

Seal hopped on board about 0100. Was really fun. Kept me awake. Acted like a dog. Muzzled my arm and back and made my jacket smell like fish. Actually put its head in my lap and went to sleep. Stayed on board for hours. Seemed to like me. Would let me pet it, move his head around when I was moving side-to-side when we were tacking, it was just like having a dog on board, except he didn't dump. There's some newspaper articles here & there.

I ain't the one smiling. I'm the one drinking coffee. Ciao. John

I like the story every time you tell it. Must have been a beautiful moment, especially as such a thing usually happens only once in a live.

Late reply because I've actually gone over a week without checking the forums!

I like the seal story. A woman in my Toastmasters club has a similar one. She has a house on the river, and one day when she was relaxing in her back yard just looking at the scenery a squirrel settled on her arm. Stayed there at least a good 10 minutes!

Assuming it works as expected, here I am. Not the best picture, but the only one I have that's a small enough file to post.

Yeah, it was in Las Colinas, TX taken in Feb. after my wedding when my wife and I did some sightseeing after staying in the Omni Mandalay hotel nearby (which is why I'm wearing a tux jacket over a T-shirt).

who is your furry friend to your left?

Madgamer
Hitchiker we picked up during a race. Hopped up the open transom in the middle of the night, mugged the tiller, and made himself at home. Stayed on board for about 8 hours.
