I have a 1920x1200 monitor, and -px1440 -py0900 does not work on my computer either. Non windowed -px1920 -py1200 does work perfectly, though. Video card is nVidia 7800 GTX.

What's the best time in a "turn cycle" for PBEM opponents to patch? E.g., right after the Japanese player runs a turn and generates a replay file?

Edit: Just found Admiral DadMan's post on this here: tm.asp?m=2233574 . I assume that's still the recommended procedure. Either that, or installing a second instance of AE, which I kinda hate to do given my shrinking disk space.

For all those that have problems. Put the px and py parameter direct after the exe e.g.

"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition2\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -px1440 -py900 -cpu2 -multiaudio -dd_sw -wd
that works

but
"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition2\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -cpu2 -multiaudio -dd_sw -wd -px1440 -py900
that doesn't work

Re: Video settings

In playing around I have seen that it seems to matter if the resolution you set is one of your standard screen settings. Try those out - look at the options available in the properties tab on your Windows screen settings (right click on an empty area of your desktop).

Also, many of us use the monitor at less than full resolution. Look at what the full resolution is and use that for the full screen settings, that might work.

Unfortunately I just can´t get -px1366 -py0768 to work, windowed or not. Is there someone who had luck with this resolution?

I don't know, but it's worth a try.

Doesn't work for me. All my range circles still look like ovals :)
"C:\Program Files\WITPAE\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -px1680 –py1050 -fd -cpu2 –multiaudio –dd_sw -altFont

And if I try windowed it still uses 1074x768 regardless of my preferences:
"C:\Program Files\WITPAE\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -px1680 –py1050 -wd -cpu2 –multiaudio –dd_sw -altFont

Do you have the lastest drivers?

What various resolutions does your monitor support?

Devs have mentioned that x must be greater than 1024 AND y must be greater than 768, or it will still default to 1024x768.

I have the very latest drivers that nVidia can provide.

I tried several resolutions that are available to me but none of them do anything, whether in full screen or windowed. Specifically I tried 1680x1050 (which is listed as 'native' in my graphic options), 1440x900, 1280x1024, 1280x800 and 1152x864. I have a Dell Inspiron running 32bit Vista.

To which shortcut are you applying the -px and -py ?

To the game exe ones - they're listed in my original post.

It's working fine on my ancient Dell GX520 desktop though. 1680x1050 looks fine, and that box has the same drivers it shipped with. So I guess I'm just fucked vis a vis my main WITP machine.

Earlier in the Tech Support forum there was mention made of a bug whereby parts of units were lost when unloading at a base. My opponent cap_and_gown reported losing aviation support and perhaps more, I have seen it, and others reported it.

It was said to be fixed for Patch 3, but I can't find anything like it in the change list. Is it fixed in Patch 3 Beta?

Here's the thread:
http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2356840

And here is a quote:
Original: michaelm

I ran the save through the 'current' test build and it arrived with the full 10 and 30 support.
I think the last fix we introduced may correct a number of 'lost' fragment issues.

[Don't ask when it will be released as I don't know.]

I'm just wondering if it's included in this Patch, because I couldn't find it in the release notes.

I have one screen 52" sony W4500 (2400€ top of the line year ago) and nvidia GTX280 (500€ top of the line year ago) and I cant get the resolution 1920x1080 to work in either full screen or window. Ive tried shortcuts like:

"D:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -px1920 –py1080

"D:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -px1920 –py1080 -w

"D:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -px1600 –py0900 -w

The max resolution defaults always to 1024x768. I have no problems running everything else like other games with that resolution. My windows resolution is 1920x1080. Im connected through hdmi. Im running windows7 64bit.

I do hope you can get this working. Because it doesnt look very good. I very much wish to get rid of that small 1024x768 resolution.

WHERE in the "members club" should we look, Eric? Last AE patch I can find is from December. Can you give me some help here?
