GENTLEMEN,
ATTACHED IS THE SCHEMATIC DEPLOYMENT OF TROOPS IN THE PACIFIC AS WE PLAN TO EXECUTE WITHIN THE NEXT MONTHS. THE LOCATIONS IN BLUE IS THE TARGET AREA OF THE SOUTHWEST PACIFIC COMMAND. PURPLE ARE DESTINATIONS THAT ARE UNDER CONTROL OF NEW ZEALAND. IN GREY IS GIVEN THE AREAS THAT WILL BE PROTECTED BY THE SOUTH PACIFIC COMMAND. OUR SHIPPING ROUTES TO NEW ZEALAND AND SURROUNDING AREAS ARE GIVEN BY THE YELLOW ARROWS. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THESE SHIPPING LANES REMAIN IN OUR POSSESION. OUR CARRIERS AND WAR SHIPS WILL PROTECT THESE SHIPPING LANES AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. THE PACIFIC OCEAN AREAS COMMAND (YELLOW) WILL TRY TO RETAKE WAKE, PALMYRA, CHRISTMAS ISLAND AND CANTON WHEN JAPANESE CARRIERS ARE OUT OF POSITION. FOR NOW SOUTHWEST PACIFIC, PACIFIC OCEAN AREAS AND SOUTH PACIFIC UNITS WILL BE UNDER COMMAND OF THE PACIFIC FLEET UNTIL THESE HEADQUARTERS BECOME OPERATIONABLE.

GENTLEMEN,
WITH INVASION OF PORT MORESBY BY JAPANESE TROOPS WE HAVE TO CONSIDER A POSSIBLE INVASION OF AUSTRALIA. THIS MUST BE PREVENTED AT ALL COSTS! AUSTRALIA IS LARGE AND IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO DEFEND EVERYTHING. THE 3rd MILITARY DISTRICT IN THE DARWIN AREA WILL NOT BE REINFORCED. THEY WILL ACT AS A DELAYING FORCE. ALSO UNITS AT HORN ISLAND WILL NOT BE REINFORCED EVEN THOUGH ITS STRATEGIC POSITION. 2nd ARMY WILL DEFEND PERTH AREA AS SOON AS IT BECOMES OPERATIONABLE. UNITS (2 Brigades and 3 Battalions) ARE ALREADY PRESENT AT KALGOORLIE AND DIGGIN IN. THIS IS THE MOST STRATEGIC POINT OF THE DEFENSES IN THIS AREA. FIRST ARMY WILL DEFEND THE RAILROADS OF THE NORTHERN COASTAL CITIES TO THE SOUTH. IT WILL DIG IN AT ALICE SPRINGS (currently 1 BG), CLONCURRY (curently 1 BG and 1 Bn) AND NORMANTON (currenlty 2 BGs). I AUSTRALIA CORPS WILL DEFEND THE COASTAL BASES IN THE NORTHEAST. THEY WILL BE REINFORCE BY UNITS THAT WILL ARRIVE SOON FROM EUROPE.

From: LCDR Lent, SS Triton, near Kwajalein
To: ADM Kimmel, Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor
Concerning: Naval Combat

Sir,
We have observed CV Kaga and lauched torpedoes at her. One of them exploded!!!!

We are having problems with a sync bug. Everything what I've told you may actually not be true. We are trying to resolve these issues. Unfortunately at this moment there is the possibility that the Kaga was never hit. On the other hand it also may have been hit by more torpedoes and have sunk.
