I was going to give you some guff and say your Orions stink, but your work is exceptional as usual. What is more, it looks like you were quite creative with the variations on the Orion Wanderer. The capital version in particular looks very sharp. And I have to agree with ehsumrell1 on your choice for a race picture. Okay, since you were so creative on this, I am going to try to be creative with the Orion Scout from 'Journey to Babel'.

I'm glad you like the pic! He's from the episode 'The Menageri pt II' or 'The Cage' since he appears in both. I coloured his skin green. I was moving his eyes so they would look at the camera and when I got to his second eye, I thought, 'It looks quite fitting for a pirate to only have one eye!'. So I just left him without it! [:D]

They are set to be pirates, of course. It's going to be a bit strange seeing them firing on the pirate ships though. I guess maybe they could be rival factions.

I've set the biases so that no-one hates them. If they are to be a non-expanding race then I wouldn't want them getting wiped out too easily.

The problem is, it's going to be up to the player to make sure they have a decent little empire. Like you say, ehsumrell1, if we make the home planet agreeable, but possibly the size should be young or expanding.

That almost sounds like praise, TJ. Thank you. [;)]

I don't remember an Orion scout in that episode, I'll need to rewatch....

It is praise; your work is always excellent.

Orions look great! Although maybe those three little ones at the right look a bit off... too flat compared to the rest?

Looking forward to it :)

Thanks, hewwo. Those 3 ships are the freighters and they come from old models  I found. I've actually found a pretty suitable ship for a pirate frigate, so I might replace the freighters with the current escorts and frigates. I just need an escort ship now and that's it.

I'm going to get to work on the First Federation, they're another non-expanding empire (yes I know another one [8|]), but they are good guys for a change. The Federation needs some allies in this era.

Here are the race stats for the Fesarians. I've named them the Fesarians because it's less confusing. Their flag ship is called the Fesarius, so it's just a slight stretch to assume their homeworld has the same name.

Only a few more ships left to do and I can release the updated mod. These ships suffer from the scaling issue, but there's not really any way to get the fesarius on screen to scale anyway. It's several miles in diameter.

That looks really sharp. Red and blue in particular.
I do not know if I will use them though... I do not mind when the Klingons or the Romulans blow the snot out of me and my 'nation.' But when a little snot nosed kid wipes me out... it is a little much for moral. [:D]

Do not speak of the mighty Balok in that manner!

I could use an image from this video instead :-

Igard how many races total are in the mod? Also, how many have their own shipset? You should put a small summary of everything in the mod on the first post above the pic and below the intro you already wrote [;)]

If I ever have time I'd like to try a Trek mod, just don't know which one [:D]

(I'm holding out for a 'greatest hits' kind of mod) [;)]

That's a good idea, I'm almost ready to release the 1.1 version, so I'll put a summary of mod features on the first post.

To answer your questions, there will be 8 races in the 1.1 version. Each of them with their own shipset.

Once I'm done with this, it'll be a quick update for the Archer era and then I'll begin work on my personal favourite era, the Sulu/Spock era (can't decide on the name, I'm leaning toward Spock). [;)]

For a 'greatest hits' mod, I could run some kind of poll to see which ships would be selected for it. Not until I've got all the eras finished. 3 more mods to go. [:)]

Cool, for your greatest hits mod you should also definately include the Borg.  The shipscaling doesn't bother me that much to be honest.  But keep the cubes as Caps or Cruisers so they aren't tiny.  The spheres and the non-geometric ships it doesn't really matter tbh if they aren't huge.

Apart from them, you wouldn't even have to make any new races, it would simply be a case of compiling all the main races together into a mod from your other mods [;)]

What are you def, Balok.
I said, having a little snot nosed kid make short work of me is a little much for morale.
But you are an improvement, your most imperial ugliness! [X(]

Version 1.1 is now ready to beam up.

Any problems let me know. If there's any balance tweaking that needs done feel free to bring it up with me, I'm still undecided about the bias settings.

Happy trekking. [8D]

EDIT: oh yes and, the design.txt file still doesn't work for me with this mod. Here's the one I was trying to get to work. It results in an extremely laggy game. Loads fine, just very slow. If anyone could try it out and let me know how you get on, that would be helpful. [;)]
