And the problemo is finding that one point that is constantly short of resources. If I knew which one it was I might be tempted to move it.ORIGINAL: randallw
Yes, that one. You'll be short of resources for one factory all the way through, or at least most of the time.

I think the production stuff is basically under the hood, and moving factories around won't fix this little shortage.

Here's some detail on the Smolensk area. I did some pulling back in the south of the image and some checkerboarding in the north end.
It's still incredably weak and he's going to have no problemo bulling his way through my units. I'm going to rail in a bunch of
reinforcements next chance I get.

Here's an animation showing my moves......I did a fair amount of pulling back over almost the entire map. I'm railing in reinforcements
and falling back slowly maybe I can form a rough draft of a front line here somewhere soon.

Are you finding the computer AI challenging as the Russian? I enjoy playing it as german but as the Russian it seems to predictable (which is to be expected[:D]) and after playing some humans it just isn't the same.
You have the ability to arouse various emotions in me: please select carefully.

RE: larry ( Soviet ) 1.04.36 vs Axis AI T7
I'm only on turn 7 right now and it's way too early to tell if it's challenging or not but having said that lemme state also that I'm having to scramble and it's exciting to fall back slowly, rail more guys in, move industry prn, but After Winter '41 what shape will the Axis AI be in? It might turn out to be two different games one pre-winter and one different style one post-winter and I'm not sure what '42 will look like. I'm doing this AAR as an experiment to play the 1.04.36 version and see what happens. I've only played the Soviets in my playing so I don't know really what to expect as the Axis. And I've never made it into the typical '42 game we read about in the AAR's except for three times when I lost games and they ended early. So '42 and later is going to be an eye-opener.ORIGINAL: miller41

My game here is, I'm thinking, maybe too early for ME to see the predictable-ness of it. But then, this is the second time I've played against the Axis AI and I may not know what to look for etc. I've seen a reluctance on the part of the Finns to attack with the "normal" hardness setting and as this is a "challenging" game it's of course different. I've been attacked by the Finns already. I like it so far.ORIGINAL: miller41

Here's a Mig-3 unit that has some 20+ planes in reserve. Do I move this guy to the NR since he has no ready planes now or do I leave him attached to an airbase expecting the planes in reserve to fly *this* turn?
