Here we can see that we are beginning to understand each other, their ignorance of our ways is reducing.

Oooo no, you lost that beautiful general....right after Erik told us to take really good care of such material [:)]
Which reminds me, maybe I was not paying attention but is there a similar concept to the survival pods from MOO2? Some tech to allow our characters to escape even from a defeat?

Yes the borders is really affecting me in this one, I want that Mortalen world! I could wait and see if they take it and then go to war with them, not sure yet, don't think I'm ready to even think about going for his home world.
So, is there no ways to get independent colony on enemy territory without war?[&:]
I think not.The independent colony would be under their territorial jurisdiction.Borders are very important so it is logical it would cause war.You are not invading Hong Kong without war.

Maybe, history knows another examples, right? [;)]

Maybe that is the way the game will work. Borders are fun since they can generate complex gradations of conflict and diplomatic options.
Looking at terrestrial history, there have been many invasions and incursions and border shoving matches short of "war," as well as proxy wars, subversion etc. Not to mention in any detail economic intrusions - yes, mining or other exploitation. A mining ship active in alien territory should be able to mine if ordered, but the local space gendarmes may come round and chase them off - or blast them to bits - and away we go.
Border activities are a good way to wind up with someone having casus belli if not directly escalating to war. Having your people within alien territory, subjugated or not, seems like casus belli for both sides if colonization is attempted or opposed. There are so many rich options between declaring war and doing nothing! I hope some of that gets reflected in Legends.

I've got a plan, we are going to use the Naxxilians to create problem for the Kiadians when I begin war with them, we will draw them in to the war with our Mutual Defence Pact and defend our worlds, then strike when the opportunity arises.
My main world is well defended with it's bases.

An interesting find but this changes nothing, we will bring this world in to the Immortal Empire after the Kiadians have knelt before us.

RE: The [LEGENDs]ary Birth of the Mortalens
We have scouted their defences, my military advisors promise me they will be no match for our new Captial Ship.
We are preparing the celebrations, I'm have Kiadian corpse for main, washed down with some Naxxilian tears.

RE: The [LEGENDs]ary Birth of the Mortalens
The attack has been called off...this was unexpected. Apparently they use rail gun technology against us that has hurt our ships through our shields.
Our admiral assures us it wasn't a defeat, he had just had enough win for one day. This is not the end...

RE: The [LEGENDs]ary Birth of the Mortalens
I am currently torturing my military advisor asking him how we have gained nothing from this war and yet we let the Kiadians take our worlds in return, this will not end until we have taken more back in return.
