Distant Worlds: Shadows Updated to 1.9.0.7

Distant Worlds is a vast, pausable real-time, 4X space strategy game which models a "living galaxy" with incredible options for replayability and customizability. Experience the full depth and detail of large turn-based strategy games, but with the simplicity and ease of real-time, and on the scale of a massively-multiplayer online game. Now greatly enhanced with the new Universe release, which includes all four previous releases as well as the new Universe expansion!

- added new Engagement Stance settings for *manually* controlled ships and fleets (Game Options > Empire Settings). These settings default to 'no change', so that Engagement Stance does not change when a player manually assign missions to ships and fleets. Existing Engagement Stance settings now apply to auto-controlled ships and fleets

Glad to see engagement stances have been refined. :)

Do we need to start a new game for the V1.9.0.7 fixes to work? Thanks.

Thanks for focussing on the updates after release.

I was wondering though if the layer bug was being looked at where pirate ownership areas and sometimes long range scanners would cloud over the galaxy making it difficult to see underlying systems and details?

Yes, but it's proven to be a tough one - it's related to the new graphics engine and we're still looking for a way to improve this.

It's always best, ALWAYS. Even if you get people saying that it's important to have compatible saves it's still always best to go into something with your newest data loaded, rather than whatever was saved in your last game file.

Is there a problem with the download link from the latest patch? I've tried downloading it but the link seems down. I even tried logging in in my account and downloading, but no luck. Since http://www.patches-scrolls.com/distant_ ... hadows.php doesn't have the latest version, I'm stuck with 1.9.0.6.

Not sure if trolling [&:]

I rarely expect random internet sites to carry patches for my games. Try the link given in the first post:

You misunderstood me. I said:

"Is there a problem with the download link from the latest patch? I've tried downloading it but the link seems down. I even tried logging in in my account and downloading, but no luck."

So yeah, I did try downloading from the official site and the link was down. Then I tried to go on a site that aggregates updates and nothing. Now the site has the patch and I already downloaded it.
