RE: GD38 Game 10 AAR
European Union HQ, Berlin
April 1939
The Czechs have thrown over their French advisors and made peace with the EU, which welcomes this technologically advanced nation with open arms. From the borders with the Soviet Union to the battlefields in France the European Union stands united, integrated and ready to pursue this war.
We mounted a large scale attack on Lille which held out against our forces, causing heavy casualties. We believe the enemy losses were substantial also. Troops from the east are heading to France now to join the combat.
At sea our surface fleets have entered the very dangerous waters of the English Channel where they will be exposed to the attacks of the RAF. We built these ships to fight, and fight them we did. Along with our U-Boats we damaged the Royal Navy, and we will now take their blows in return

Meanwhile in the Soviet Union, things are full of peace. A picture of our great leader in conversations with the late and great Lenin, has surfaced, and begun being seen on public posters. It shows how even in youth Lenin was listening to Stalin, when he presented his ideas. The two leaders, together, working for our better tomorrow.

Are we like late Rome, infatuated with past glories, ruled by a complacent, greedy elite, and hopelessly powerless to respond to changing conditions?

The Maginot line has been breached, and we have taken Luxembourg. We attacked Lille, but did not make a major effort there. Next month we may make Lille our focus, or we may bypass it.
We did a major submarine raid on Scapa Flow with some losses, but with success. The Royal Navy has seen some losses.

Soviet leadership refutes the claim made that Stalin is getting his inspiration from a book written by the late A.Hitler. It has been tracked that these lies come from Japan, and the motives for this is being investigated. Soviet troops in the far east have been put on high alert. Other than that, peace reigns in the Peoples paradise.

Switzerland has joined the Union. We consider it a real vote of confidence that this historically neutral nation has seen fit to join us against the misguided British and French.
In France Lille has fallen to our troops. The defenders put up a good fight, but in such a poor cause.
The navy continues to take the battle to the Royal Navy. We have taken losses, but the enemy has taken more.
We continue to invest in Panzer production. The enemy fights his armor well, but so do we.

Once again the Peoples paradise welcomes a new memberstate. This time Greece, which in a democratic election chose to join the Great Union of Socialist Soviet Republics. The greek people in their infinite wisdom chose the USSR over the so-called European Union, which seems to be an unsafe harbor, that is determined on war.

The USA continues to prepare for the war that is coming. Production of critical forces move along as do the plans for additional State run war factories.
Favoritism is alive and well here.

No major developments this turn. We had to regroup after last turn and our units needed a rest. We may have to build more transport.
We did build another Panzer factory, and the panzers stream to the front.
We took a second Maginot fort, and this one was captured, rather than destroyed. We also hit some French armor rather hard, which should be a very limited resource for them. We are now in position for the battles for Paris, Le Havre, and Lyon. The enemy forces are strong and these battles will take awhile.
We found the Royal Navy in Belfast, and attacked but without much success. Our anti-commerce campaign is doing fine.

Japan is enjoying the peace on the Asian continent. Events in distant lands are tragic but do not effect Japan in its corner of the world.

In the Paradise made for the Farmer and Worker alike, the Union of Socialist Soviet Republics, ensures peace for all. Where one great leader (Lenin) left off, another great leader takes over. The course the Soviet Union takes, is unchanged, and unaffected by the powers that surround it.

Another grinding turn against the strong resistance. We pierced the enemy lines on either side of Paris, and the northern penetration was rather deep.
Enemy air power is hurting us, but the Luftwaffe get in some licks in our attacks.
Our Navy continues to interdict and harass the enemy.

While Europe is in turmoil, peace reigns in the Soviet Union. The Peoples paradise have through an enormous effort connected the Capitol of Mongolia, with the rest of the Soviet Unions roadnetwork. Long live the peoples workers and their efforts for the Peoples Paradise.

I am not paying 75 points for removal of isolationism. Just noticed this turn. Think I paid 60 points this last turn. Anyone else playing as America notice this?

RE: GD38 Game 10 AAR
Yes, 60 pp per turn, and quite enough in my opinion.

August 1939
The City of Light has been taken by the forces of the EU. Various other attacks were less successful. The enemy is putting up a very tough fight everywhere, and it took a massive effort to take Paris. However the defense of France and Spain has just become much more difficult, for allied resources are surely strained.
At sea we are trading blow for blow with the diminshed forces of the Royal Navy.

I believe I changed it from 75 to 60 with the last update. So there is your explanation.

18 September 1939
We progress slowly into France. We took the chemical factory west of Paris this month, and isolated Lyon. Le Havre is weakened but still in British and French hands.
There was not a great deal of naval activity, and our U-Boats are positioned to harm British commerce. Our surface forces, and those of the Royal and Republican navies have been beaten up. We hope to stabilize the U-Boat situation now that we are not inshore as much.
By the end of 1939 we hope to be campaigning in Spain. This means we must clear France of enemy troops in three months, which will be difficult enough. We have not been building any factories till we see what sort of military we face next. We also want to prepare for any new campaigns which may be thrust upon us. We actually have a rather small military, and have taken losses.
