There's a rather significant difference between volunteer private citizen health workers and active-duty soldiers, specifically how easy/difficult it is to get either party to go to West Africa knowing that there is (or isn't) a quarantine waiting for them when they get back.

+1

A soldier in quarantine is still drawing pay, and not getting in trouble over absence from the regular job.
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

Well, I can guarantee that no one flying into New York or New Jersey is going to admit that they were working with Ebola patients, if they even admit to having been in East Africa. Others will route themselves through Europe and cover their tracks completely.

Agreed. That's precisely why travel bans don't work.
I also agree with you that Travel bans do not work in the present times.

And concerning ebola and what not, every couple of years there's another "flu" remember the swine flu?
In TV or radio was said something deaths caused by swine flu. I asked: "How many has died to ordinary flu?" My father answered: "Much more."
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

I think that we NEED to Dispell Wetiko if we have any chance of avoiding self destruction.
