Receiving books in time for Xmas?

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

I got a shipped notice on the 15th and received my copy by USPS Priority Mail on the 17th. I live in Indiana. Really fantastic service.

Got mine last Sunday but was away on travel so just opened it up last night. Even better than the WIF books, truly awesome quality!

Well if the MWIF books are the dogs dangly bits, and this is better, what does that make the WITW book? [X(]

Love the book ... well worth the extra $$ for this physical shipment. Having that book there for reference while playing is just awesome. I have all my manuals on my eReader too ... but there is something about having that hard cover manual that I prefer.

I find it also handy to block random objects tossed at me by my wife when I tell her I am too busy plotting air directives to come to dinner [:D]

I think the same, they are ran out Books and waiting for new ones. Strange is the priority oft the delivery, people that have order after the 4th DEC, get the Copy right in time and bevor here in germany [&:][&:][&:]

I dispatched my order on 4th of December as well. If Matrix really ran out of books they should at least inform us.

Well mine arrived today, and as others have said - well worth having. I find it easier to manage than on screen pdf and it looks good too. Ordered on the 4th, despatched on the 16th and arrived today - not bad given the time of year. I have to say that Matrix/2by3 have done a great job in making this game accessible for someone who didn't have WITE. It is easy to play (badly) but with so much depth that each time I play I learn new things, do better, and get more enjoyment. The Player's Handbook, tutorials, and early AAR's have been really helpful. Above all the forums are (mostly) friendly and helpful, especially for someone like me who is not computer savvy. Apart from a couple of idiots who can be ignored, this is a knowledgeable and enjoyable place to come and learn about the game and WW2. The accessibility (and patience) of Joel, Pavel and Erik is an example for others to emulate.

As I'm also from Germany (München), I can say that I received my book on the 18th of December already.
So it does not seem to be a problem with German customers in general.

Here's sending a Christmas wish that you all get your book before Christmas!!Especially to the ones in Germany who seem to not be getting it as quickly.

Ordered 12/16 in the US. Got a shipment notification 12/18, two days later! Arrived today (12/22) via FedEx from the other side of the country!

As an aside, I ordered a few other games and several cases were crushed, which also ruined the nice color inserts! I wonder who packs these things? I don't think FedEx throwing it around could crush 3 cases, but I guess it's possible. The book and outer box were fine, which makes me think they were packed like that. Submitted a help ticket for several cases and two color inserts. One of the cases was in pieces. I trust Matrix Customer Service will help and the feedback may be helpful to them.

The book is extremely nice! Slightly smaller than I thought from the photos, but still the size of a textbook. I feel like I am back in grade school and should use the paper grocery bag to put a book cover on it before class starts!

I've had problems with crushed game cases as well when ordering from Matrix. After Command Modern Air/Naval Operations came in a crushed box I emailed them and in return got 5 empty boxes in return. I still have couple left just in case and will order more if the same happens again. I'm really happy with the way Matrix handled the situation.
