I can't give you anything definite or even speculative, but I can say that I agree it's about time we made another ACW game.

must admit i've never like the Civil War time frame until i played Brother against Brother, The Drawing of the Sword & the Commander series of games so yes also look forward to seeing someone do a new game with a more up to date engine in it i'd buy it and play it, but anything new out atm just doesn't come close to either of what i've already seen and had, so no luck this year

A hex based game with great detail like WitE 2 or Commander would be magical. Like the Grand Campaigns of the Civil War board game but for the whole country.

I think great detail of equipment files were non existent in Napoleonic Wars as Helpless(Pavel) mentioned years back in War in The East forum. So in a Civil War game in happened 19th century, what other details can be good?

I'd like one with battles similar to Field of Glory 2 or that wargame. Or maybe even one like Field of Glory Empires.

Hello Eric,

Did a search today and came up with this: https://www.wargamer.com/best-civil-war-games the first 2 games described are kinda like what I'd be interested in, but not really crazy about. I had to wonder if Matrix is planning, or could be planning on having a new CW game based on what it can acquire from an indie, or start from scratch developing a Commander style CW game possibly on a grand scale? Truthfully, I'd prefer the later. Right now I have a tendency to think that the Strategic Command would be a good candidate to do a CW Commander theme game, not overly complicated, but enough for a gamer to dive into to make one "THINK", plus be popular with the MP crowd, seems there's always someone who'd take one side or the other in that conflict.. Watched the interview with you and Joel the other day about 2 by 3's new game and thought: "Gee, it did not seem that Joel is anywhere close to being over the hill that he and 2 by 3 could not do a remake of WBTS, or another stab at a CW project, after-all he and GG have done one remake of WW II after another, for sure if they did a CW game it would a classic".

A wink hoping for the best, Bob
