New units in Germany at War 1.09

Germany At War: Operation Barbarossa 1941 is an elegant turn-based design, inspired by classics such as Panzer General, but with more of a historical focus. You command the German forces through a branching historical campaign covering the entire 1941 campaign as well as part of the 1942 campaign. Dozens of scenarios stretch from the Soviet border all the way to Archangel and towards Astrakhan, the original military goals of Operation Barbarossa. Step into a wargame where your performance will rewrite history, through an addictive combination of compelling gameplay, realistic events and challenging battles.

Hi Zovs,

If you played the original game in early versions you may want to try version 1.08 - the latest released update - and this discussion is about next update to be released and also about mods.

Most scenarios are from 1941, some from 1942, three from 1943, one from 1944 and one from 1945.
There will be a Soviet campaign in 1.09.
There are a couple of custom campaigns, one covering only 1941 - either take Moscow and win or fail and be dismissed - and one merges tie original Barbarossa and Blau campaigns into one.
If you are interested in mods, look into the Mods section, there are some mods there.

If you want to play the 1941 campaign, I would suggest the new version from the Mods section, the last post in the thread about 1941 Eastern Front campaign.

If you are new to the game and never played mods before, run the editor in the game folder and you will have a new folder in your Documents named ''Germany at War'' with subfolders ''Campaigns'', ''Scenarios'' and ''Multiplayer'''. Unzip the download and put everything into ''Campaigns'' folder (the campaign scenarios also go into that folder with the campaign.) You will see it on the menu as ''The Eastern Front 1.09''.

Hi terminator,

its an upgraded version of the 1897, it had rubber tires, which were put on it in 30's by several armies who found the gun itself still useful.

Hi folks,

France has now her first artillery in the game. As that gun was popular in Europe, other nations will also profit from the new model.

The correct name in French should be "Canon" and not "Canone" which should be reserved for Italians :

Germany has captured many Schneider 1897 during her conquest of Europe. Its listed as FK 97(p) in the case of the ones taken from Poland.

Hi folks,

today the FT-17 found its way into the game. Though out-of-date it still was around at the start of the war. Romania gets it first, but other nations will get their delivery, too.

Poland used the FT-17s.

I have a ton of tactical info if it’s needed. I have been playing board war games since the late 70’s and PC wargames since the 90’s. My favorite level is tactical followed by operational.

I have a lot of good references for stuff and can look it up if needed.

The Wehrmacht captured 1,704 FTs. They used about 100 for airfield defence and about 650 for patrolling occupied Europe. Some were used by the Germans in 1944 for street-fighting in Paris.

Hi folks,

@terminator: Thanks for the hint, i did not know they still used them in 1944. But i had something vaguely in the back of my memory that they used it in Yugoslavia for fighting the partisans. So Germany will get it, too.

The FT-17 for Poland is on the list for 1.09. Thanks for your offer. What i could use is information about equipment in general (like for a tank speed, armor thickness (front, side etc.) gun & ammo used) as that is the bases for the combat values among other things. I am not sure this is what you meant ?
Getting that kind of information condensed would save research time.

Model for QF 75mm Mk.I is now in the game. The gun was produced by the Americans and given to the Brits to bridge a lack of guns due to high losses in the field.

This will happen, in fact i have already prepared "Page 2" for the equipment to come. Btw. you and AngrySwan could get a version to test the new movement rules among other things next week if you like.
