Ever hear of a LST? Once again, a division is what should be the largest formation for making a beach assault, it just makes sense and is historical.

D-Day was a 6 division assault across the 5 beaches. That would be 60 landing craft and then once they(the beaches) have been made friendly you can bring in the rest.

Armor Corps suffer more casualties when unloading.

Remember the landing craft in the game is an abstract way to represent preparation for invasions. I could have put a tech and complicated it but this is a strategic corps level game that has some divisions. Not a divisional level game with corps.

But you give the Germans a capacity that they just did not have in 1940. They had no way to land even a single Armor Corps across a beach in 1940. Wooden flat bottomed barges just would not do it. The Allies had to spend massive resources on LST's to enable that capacity from late 42.

Letting the Germans do amphibious invasions with Tank Corp in 1940 or even 1941 is just absurd.

Do you think the Germans had any of these laying around in 1940?

And assuming a size 1 port comes back on line WAY QUICKER than a Size 9 port ….. lots more to repair …..

How about an landing craft abstraction whose lift capacity increases as the war goes on ? Could make them a technology to invest into …. Lord knows the Allies did …..

No one has any grounds to claim Tank Corp should have an ability to land on beaches in 39/40/41.

And thereafter it should be possible but it should cost at least 2 Amphib points per factor.

This should not be difficult to code. It is factual, realistic and will surely help curb all these ridiculous Invasions we see in 40/41.

I for the life of me cannot fathom why any serious gamer of WWII would argue otherwise.
