The Allied pilots at Wake must be some of the more experienced ones because I lost three of my best Bettys in a strike in a thunderstorm. I'm going to have to reevaluate my air policy reguarding Wake.

Some of my Nells did an escorted raid on Clark Field and got chewed up pretty good. I'm going to have to bring more Zeros on these raids. I'll see if I have a squadron that is still in pieces that I can rebuild into a bigger organization.

Even though the carriers are steaming north the TF's were still in range of my Zeros and there was a strike carried out even though I didn't order it. That may mean that I need to remove Pearl as the target assigned to my KB aircraft.

Take out your broom and sweep the fighters from Clark, Manila, and where ever else they are a problem. Fighters on escort fight at a disadvantage.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

I discovered an Allied TF and sent one of my SCTF's to the path of it so that it might be intercepted and there was a night-time combat when I ran into it. I sank two TK's and damaged a lot of ships and didn't get a scratch on any of my ships. The perfect intercept.

I did a sweep of Singapore and the fight was hardly even but my Zeros did fairly well.

I did a sweep of Clark Field and the results were four Allied fighters shot down with no losses of my own. I need to do more of these kinds of sweeps.

My carriers were within range of Midway so a strike was flown by some of my valient pilots and they got some hits for the loss of a single Val. There was no Allied CAP but the flak was fairly heavy.

Your sweepers should be much higher than his CAP. If you also put a small (10%) LRCAP at the base, you will increase the enemy OPs losses. Those LRCAP fighters don't have to be the best.

I'll try that. Thank you very much. I'm learning a lot from you guys; thanks all of you.

You were lucky that you 86 Zeros weren't chewed up by flak over Pearl set at 100 feet. Many have lost 20+ the first day off the war having their Zeros on 100 feet strafing airfields there.

I put some bombing at the other port with ships. They go in low. Over Oahu, they bomb at 10,000 feet and actually hit something!

I noticed that my game started off the Jap side with no VEH points, and I'm wondering if it was supposed to be that way.

Turn both ARM and VEH back on. You will need massive stockpiles of both for the new units coming in. You will also need the points for your upgrades.

Sounds good to me. If I recall correctly the stock game starts with very low VEH points too.

You will also have to build the rest of the armoured division with your stored vehicle points. Some of the units are already in, the rest are reinforcements. Other divisions form when the mixed brigades get another unit. The depot divisions that come in much later also need the points. So a good stockpile does not hurt.

Brian and I have restarted with the newest version of BTS-L and he's the Japs and I'm the Allies and he has sent me his turn one moves and I'm in the throes of doing my turn one moves and I see in the Industry dialog that there's no VEH or ARM points at game start. I guess that's normal.

I think I may have found a tiny problem with the scenario...there don't seem to be any ARM or VEH factories. Do the Allies just have none for a good reason. Am I coming to this Allied side as a former Jap side player and don't know that this is normal?
