Gary Grigsby's War in the East Open Beta 1.12.05

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

Second the observation that AA is now toothless. In 4 1941 turns and a swarm of heavy Russian air raids I see literally a handful of kills that MIGHT be attributed to AA and AA battalions are attached to most HQs/appear in combat results. Most AA battalions do not attach to division.

Perhaps for general losses the game just need a random roll for every single general during the logistics phase. As many were also killed by just random events- car crashes, airplane crashes, random acts of God or just random shells.

It should a very low chance though--probably based on a d1000 or so as even a d100 with a 1% chance would probably cause far to many General losses--keep in mind these are Corps/Army/Army Group commanders.

I would also include generals not assigned to units in the pool....then again the game would maybe need to generate new possibly random leaders if the leader pool gets to small to represent division leaders being pulled up to make up for the loss of officers.

For Sam Slitherine: can you furnish current copies of "Lost Victories" and "Don to Danube" scenarios?

Seems I've lost them since purchased.

If possible, send links to my email: wkuh@yahoo.com

In the eve of new front opening 2020, with 1.12.05, normal diff. - during blizzard , swarm of Russian Tank Regiment seems to be as powerless as they were in Snow/Normal weather --- they keep 1-2, 2-1 form.
Previous patch, during blizzard their strength were raise to certain point that overwhelmed the German.
