An unsatisfying turn 21st Dec.
Plenty of missed opportunities this day and I lost the training CL and a AK carrying troops to a sub.
Hardly any Betties decided to fly though at least one tanker got nailed near the PI.
Lowpe is playing highly unorthodox, a mix of aggression, partial genius but a healthy dollop of incredibly risky play. I have a stack of a/c based in Saipan tracking his CVs and getting ready to strike and this turn he bombarded Saipan!
I based them at Saipan due to supplies and of course the CD guns and forts.
Did he forget the guns were there or did he take another extreme risk? Anyway 1 x CA and 2 x DDs are in a bad way and should be easy prey in the next day or two though I have been wrong before (eg Houston).
Lowpe's aggression makes the Empire uncomfortable at times but at the same time if the IJN holds its nerve there will be wonderful opportunities, especially against his CVs.
Exciting stuff- bravo to Lowpe for engaging and not running away but I fear the Allies are sailing very close to the edge here.
