In the north some counterattacking in Finland. 4th objective Leningrad will not happen this year for sure.

Looking on the force size the Soviets are weak but it is far from over.

You might well be right it is not only the USSR that is weak also the UK not too strong either. I have always been like this. Whenever I see a play or a movie I try to keep expectation down so not to be disappointed if it is not very good think this is the same thing [:)].

Got cold in the arctic zones. Managed to cut supply for a large part of the Soviet army in Finland and they start to retreat.

More to the south I manage to shatter a inf and an mech corps and I push towards Ivanov and Yaroslav railline. If I can cut them I think entire Northern front will have severe supply problems.

And even more to the south I manage even though it is raining to surround a mech and an arm corps. Always nice since they are expensive and takes a long time to build. With bad weather it will take a long time to eliminate them but should be doable eventually.

Crazy, I got not one but 2 cold turns in October in the Arctic zones. I have seen it before against me once so it happens but rarely.

I manage to cut both raillines around Leningrad but now when I think about it it might not cut supply as maybe Leningrad might be a supply source. Feel I should know this but I guess I will see next turn [:)] . Manage to shatter 2 inf corps and manage to get one inf army to surrender. So still looking really good.

After the events of October turns I decided to concede the game, sincethere was no way to fix that game.
I still need to read the whole AAR. But before that I'm going to do a couple of statements.
1) There is a fact that the back to back April '40 clear weather turns crushed my deplyment scheduule for France. And the back to back October '411 clear weather turns destroyed hal of my remining aRed Army.
2) The real reason to my defeat is that I made too many mistakes, and when you face a better player you can't afford that. No matter the weather, no matter the roll, not matter anything...I you opponent plays better thyan you, you will lose.
So congratulations to Magicmissile for his excellent game. A well deserved victory.

ps: maybe more comments after reading the AAR.

Thanks for the game! We played at a hysterical speed sometimes and maybe some mistakes were made but it was great fun.

Malkarma is a good player and very nice we have been chatting away so it has been a very nice experience.

About the game I feel I was a bit lucky with the weather especially in the spring of 1940 and fall 1941 which in the end probably sealed the deal. Also I realise not only in this game but in a couple of other games it is very important for the British to hold on to Egypt. The Soviets really dont need that Persian front. It is not the second front they want[:)].

So from a balance point its hard to draw conclusions as hopefully in most games Egypt will not fall. But there is a risk as Yugoslavia and Greece is basically not a part of the game anylonger that the Axis might go for Egypt pretty hard if the French campaign is not a total disaster and maybe it will be harder for the UK to hold Egypt than I think it should be. Need some more games before we know.

Anyone have any input write here would be fun to read.

Anyway again thanks for the game

Spelling

Post by MagicMissile »

I quickly browsed through the AAR. I saw so many words were spelled wrong. Sorry for that [:)].

I blame the fact that we played so fast so to keep up I just worked too fast and mistakes were made.
