Not much going on but here is how bad my submarines are for the moment.

Here in this attack 3 1942 subs vs 5 escorts sink 3 mm. 110 resources float through so many targets [:)]. How come the outcome is so bad when I have seen so many cases of attacks vs 10 escorts where you sink 5-7 mm and 1 escort. It is this what seems to be a huge range of outcomes which is a bit annoying.

And the turn after now without subhunter bonus still such a bad outcome *cry*. Thought I had the British at sea because they didnt build any escorts but victory at sea is slipping through my fingers. And compared to the other game the British is keeping all convoylines open.

Some weather payback for 1940 so rain in temparate but I still start my invasion. A bit of a lackluster start but might as well get going. I have 14 mech units 10 German and 4 Italian but more mech than usual we will see how it goes.

I feel that you are mixing effectiveness with experience.
Yep, reversed them.
But it doesn't apparently matter under 9U17. I ran a quick test on switching Russian Inf and Armor units advancements. There was no cost to either effectiveness or experience. I'll do some more checking to see if this is universal or not.

It's changed in 9U17, and the best part is you don't even need to check the manual.

The weathergods have forsaken me even though I did some sunweather dancing. Rain not in one but both zones. That is really not good. Not sure I have had such bad weather ever.

I will still do ok I think but these turns lost might well be the difference between a possibly fatal blow and Soviets surviving in decent strength.

June 6 1941

Fine weather at last.
The Finns face very few units so they advance bravely.
A breakthrough I could even maybe get Novgorod for free next turn. Probably not but one can hope :)

I overran one soviet air unit. Also shattered 2 hq with Konev and Gorbatov they didnt die but will take some time to get them out again. There is probably one more Hq with a decent leader but the Soviets will be low on HQs and good leaders for a while.

My subs though in 2 attacks with 3 subs each vs 6 and 8 escorts sunk 3 merchants together. Not so fun. Last turn under same circumstances they sank 10 so as I wrote before big range of outcomes.

Central part I advanced a bit trying to get rid of the road blocks.

Forgot to take a screenshot of the south part but there were two breakthroughs over the river both in the south and the north. Have an arm corps who could get over the Dniepr river if I want to try and prevent the building of a riverline there.
Additional note there are a lot of cav corps so need to keep my line together. Dont want to many breaks in the supply.

So much misery this turn [:)].

Here invasion by the British in the Netherlands. Probably can contain it maybe even kick it out but will require some units from the east which of course is of course part of the whole idea.

Another mistake of me. I alway have 20 pt corps in Amsterdam and Rotterdam but it seems I have forgotten it this time.

Looking at the force size at least the Soviet airforce is already down from 260 to 128. And soviet army pretty small that is the ray of light for the moment.

Next bad news.

Paradroip in Galati overrunning a fighter. Also no units nearby and because the bomber was on full support and used its op it will be gone next turn too. A bit expensive maybe for the Soviets but probably worth it.

And the third hit. The hits just keep on coming [:)].

2 paradrops (so 3 para corps were built at least) and big invasions take out Finland immediately. I built a minor corps but placed it outside Helsinki not in it maybe would not have changed anything but still. ComadrejaKorp warned me he was a bit of an Invasionholic (is that a word [:)]) and the complete lack of Soviets on the border should have been a big warning sign. Well played by ComadrejaKorp but I feel I fall into every trap for the moment.

Advance on Leningrad continues.

And on the central front advance continues and mopping up units but the feeling is really so so and the lost May turn or turns hurt for sure.

Now my turn to have a nice round of BoA 12 merchants and 4 escorts in one turn no sub losses. I now have 8 subs. The allies for the moment only got 12 escorts.

In the North I push on towards Leningrad slowly. Without the Finns I wont commit too it much so direct the mech units to
help push towards Moscow.

Not seen in screenshot two more invasion of Hamburg and a cav near Konigsberg. Annoying as hell [:)] takes some resources to deal with them for sure. But not for free for the Soviets to throw away units either.

In the south I manage to shatter 2 mech corps and make a small pocket. I catch a fair amount of Soviets but I dont advance much. Flankprotection against the Pripjet marshes also take a lot of resources. Also dealing with the para unit.

I like that all mech units now close and operating together.

July 18 1941

have a really good turn in the East with 15 surrenders/shatters including another HQ so I think there is one Soviet HQ in the map right now. Also surrounded the best Soviet unit in the game I hope pocket holds there is nothing better than eliminating mech units [:)]. I feel the Soviet army is pretty weak now but time is ticking and my advance not very mpressive.
