The Germans don't or can't swap defenders. The British are able to take Narvik.

23 November - 6 December 1940

The French make it to December - hussah! However the last of the British units are removed from the continent - the 1st Corps being destroyed.

I don't attack anywhere, but simply spread out as much as I can to hold onto cities and to try and stop a surrender.

Turn 28 + Turn 29
23 November - 6 December 1940

Meanwhile, the French Mediterranean Fleet were guarding the approaches to Tripoli, while the 2nd Submarine Flotilla were guarding the approaches to Benghazi. I decided to bring them west in case the Italians were going to try amassing their fleet... instead, having forced an Italian destroyer flotilla to retreat - I cam across an Italian corps either arriving or exiting North Africa.

Turn 28 + Turn 29
23 November - 6 December 1940

I don't know where the Italian battleships are and, having used up my air strikes to sink the transport, I decide discretion is the better part of valour. I take limited action to despatch a light cruiser squadron and the badly mauled destroyer flotilla. I also cause some damage to an Italian submarine. I then retreat with what I can to Alexandria.

The French couldn't hold on into the New Year and surrender....

I somehow manage to get my BB destroyed.... I at last find the Axis subs!!

I get almost all my ships home from Narvik duty.

I see the problem. ASW research was lacking....

Turn 34 + Turn 35
14-28 February 1941

Another woeful turn. I feel the game - which started well enough - is slipping away. China is a real cause for concern and I've stalled in East Africa - and am actually being pushed back in Libya....

I managed to destroy one of the two u-boats so by my reckoning there is still one around somewhere, in addition to the mauled one that is holed up in a Norwegian port.

The only bright spot was that a French partisan appeared in Brest. That aside the British are getting nowhere in the desert of East Africa. I need me a new plan.

Worse is the dire state of China....

I need me a plan.
