A bit costly, perhaps in the future we will have to choose our targets more carefully.

Once again clear skies! Fighters now cover central Germany, so we go after Paris (4 steps damage to 1 step loss), Brussels (5 damage) and Amsterdam (2 damage).

U-boats sink 3 merchants.

Our strategic bombers hit various unprotected targets for 10 damage, suffering no losses. By now they are tired and will probably have to rest.

Canada builds 10 merchants. The US builds an escort fighter. Once they join the war, we'll have an escort for each heavy bomber.
What should the UK build? Shipyards are maxed out. We save the 320 production for now.

I don't like being too quiet so I'm going to at least make a faint towards Tobruk.

Barbarossa begins. Soviets lose 7 rifle corps shattered, one mech corps shattered (to build queue).

U-boats sink 9 merchants and 3 escorts for the cost of 2 steps.

The Soviets build ten 41 Assault infantry armies.

The UK builds another strategic bomber, might as well go all in on the strategy. Canada builds an escort.
The British advance in Egypt but I don't have any major hopes of breaking through two strong German units.

Northern front. The UK sends as much aid as it can, but is running out of merchant ships.

Russia suffers 5 rifle corps surrendered and 1 shattered, 1 Mech corps surrendered and 1 shattered.
A further 3 mechs and 2 rifle corps are surrendered on the map.
We're seeing the devastating effects an experienced player like harrybanana can have on the Soviets - I should have modified my defenses to "delay" instead of line. I will do so now.
PS We are approaching historical levels of encirclements and losses, which is really bad news.

The Suffolk CA is almost sunk by air attacks off Egypt.

The UK builds 10 merchants. I don't see much chance of breaking through in Egypt, but we'll at least pose a threat to lock down a few German units.
This turn we try bombing but the experienced German figher means we lose 12 air steps to 2!
I'll send one more fighter to Egypt, semi-risky, but I don't see any signs of SeaLion.

In Europe we keep up our strategic bombers, but to little effect - the crews are exhausted. We'll have to rest a turn or two.

Things go from very bad to extremely bad on the eastern front.
4 mech corps surrender, 2 rifle corps surrender, 4 rifle corps shatter.

I think it's really good I'm playing harrybanana, no other opponents have come close to results like this. Lots to learn, I really could use more boots on the ground.

U-boats sink 12 merchants for 6 step losses.

We do get some armies this turn, but nowhere near enough except to just continue to delay the Germans as much as possible.

Slightly slower advance in the north, but I think my defenses here will be shattered next turn.

The UK builds 10 merchants, Canada builds an escort.

We continue with some sporadic strategic bombing of undefended occupied cities in Europe.

The defenses in Cyrenaica are far too strong for us to break through, especially without air superiority.
Our air units here are at just over half strength.
Nothing we do here can have any immediate impact on the situation in Russia.

I have to say harrybanana knows exactly how much force to use on each front. He leaves absolutely no openings.

If only my northen defenses were shattered, instead they are surrounded.
The Soviets lose 3 rifle corps and 1 army shattered this turn.
We have now officially gone from extremely bad to catastrophic.

U-boats sink 5 merchants and take 2 steps damage.

UK Armor tech is 41, the Soviets just got 42. Max investment in both.

We officially give up any offensives against Tobruk. Any future offensive will have to be a naval landing somewhere.

Strategic bombers take a few weeks rest and upgrade to 42 tech.

Soviet raiders sink 5 German merchants, which is meagre comfort as harrybanana has fun making more pockets.
3 mech corps surrender. 1 cavalry, 1 mech and 3 rifle corps shatter.

Russia receives no new units this turn. We need more armies!
Also we are not getting the +5 production we should get through Persia.

The US set reinforce to 0 and builds 20 merchants. I think Russia will desperately need help.
Canada builds an escort. The UK keeps sending 53 production to Russia.

The UK bombs Berlin again, taking 8 step losses for 8 damage.
It is doubtful the Western Allies can do more than strategic bombing and sending aid to Russia in 1942.

In northern Russia things look dire. Air-resupply just may have saved the 2nd Tank and 13th Army from the Vitebsk pocket.

In central Russia we actually counter-attack and force back one Panzer while putting two others temporarily out of supply.
It may just help a little.
