A new patch - just testing to see if it fixes the Game hanging issue in Jan 43 when clicking on Thai Infantry units.
We will test it for a couple of turns before putting it out...

Small patch needed and some new art for WPO style new scn based on low naval aviation at the start.

• Aircraft/ ship tweaks.
• Corrected/ enhanced Japanese Aerial TT loadouts to reflect historical – data present in original DB but not used.
Effect is early TT are not quite as good but mid war onwards are better.
• Added more historical German and Italian, SS Torpedoes.
• Added historically cancelled Japanese Submarines I-125 and 6, and option to convert to SST.
• Added option to Convert Kuma Class CL to CL TT early war. Kitakami and Oi start now in this format.
• Added option to build an Agano II class CLAA late war- play balance.
• Added option to build 9 More Yugumo class DD late 42/early43- late 43 as originally intended. Added some more
Matsu class very late war DD - play balance.
• Added 2 more Tenryu class obsolete CL at the start – play balance.
• A few device and TOE tweaks.
• Small Art update, plus art for new Scn 44 - coming soon.
• Added at San Francisco 6 x Interwar four stackers in mothball, considered not sold to UK/RN.

8/11 - just re checking a few things.
I am really hoping we are approaching a situation where you can play and put up $5000 and be happy to play each side. That said their is bound to be a few balance issues into 44 and I will address everything until the game finishes and I am open to suggestions.
I am hoping not to have to adjust anymore technical issues. Most of them are only tweaks anyway and Dean and I started this about 5 patches ago and its pretty tense and balanced we are now in May 43.
But it can be better and we will make it better.
Its quite a monster but a manageable monster.
Soon there will be a third Version with less starting CV and a much more Surface Focus until end 42.

It appears everything works fine with the latest patch and map.
All is ok with games in progress under the 26b patch - as ours is.
The game is not compatible with starting a new game under 26b as the bases are out but that could be fixed if there was demand.
Big new and condensed art pack should also be installed, all should go on the server by tomorrow if it plays out ok.

With big help just now in our PBEM from Dean Williamson!
V2.0 for the latest patch and map (we can hope that gets modded later and the patch is indeed fixing and adding a lot of stuff). Also, therefore, does not have the upgraded stacking limits. And I do not know how to do that. So best have a new separate install, it also has new art, and some planes have changed numbers (to bring a few more into the game) – so please overwrite in your new install.
Also, OK for games in progress of V 1126b, as Dean and I are continuing without issue now toeward the end of June 1943.
Will not work for a new game under V 1126b (Unless someone asks real nice so we can do another adaption) as the map is out of sync.
Its been a ton of work to go over as much as possible since the last update, refine and make good and make the play balance as good ( tight) as it can be ( as of June 43) for now.
So what's it all about?
Its for realistic R+D on aircraft – you get to choose the Engines to R+D but will need to consider the potential value.
Low tech slow start – High tech brutal finish.
Scn 42 and 43 – one with one allied CV and 2 more BB at PH at start for a deeper allied challenge. PBEM only, 2-day turns recommended but not if you really don’t want it.
What about the nitty gritty of what was done to make tactical play challenging?
Just a few words ( historical and rules stuff in the PDF with scn).
AIR
Firstly, this is designed for realistic research and development. No more fantasy aircraft 3 years early, you have to follow the design paths and deal with the limitations - and it's more fun and heaps more challenging. There are many new aircraft, mostly older and slightly hypothetical variants of existing aircraft, that could have been developed. Then there are the what-ifs…
Better arrival patterns for allied aircraft
Both sides start with large amounts of obsolete aircraft, some of which are depicted in the game for the first time. Part of the skill is to find uses for these aircraft before better models arrive.
Realistic limited deployment (optional rule) for advanced carrier aircraft
There is a full chain of painfully slow development for a Japanese four-engine bomber; allied late-war bombers are now very powerful.
Aircraft load outs for all types, many aircraft tweaks – using newer databases
Jet development for both sides late war.
There is an interesting development for sea-based floatplanes for both sides – which start v low tech. These include a few prototype aircraft available in advance of production with expected problems.

Thailand and France all represented as minors
Improved Chinese air force
Late war tech for both sides
SEA
Less effective Washington treaty allows for a few more BB and BC. However there is say a London treaty that inhibits further development just prior to 1941.
Some ships present were sunk before Dec 41.
The focus of the early part of the game is more about surface ships, including during the period of construction 1942. Surface units are more important now, but many are pretty old.
1942 construction of carriers is quite constricted. Accelerates thereafter, huge choice of ship possibilities for Japan
British navy is more powerful and improved allied minors too.
Both sides will see the arrival of powerful carriers late war.
Both sides see the availability of very powerful ships late war
More differences in quality and durability between old and new
Improved AAA and new weapons on Japanese ships late war, other late war tech for both sides

Partisans in China ( and if you follow the optional limit on attacks in difficult terrain, these will be difficult to remove).

• New Convoys added for allies, Suez gets more convoys that come in after middle east opens 43/08, they come
with supplies and equipment.
• Cristobal gets convoys starting from 43/06 to 45/08.
• Soviets get some re supply convoys 2 in 44 and 2 in 45 that give planes supplies fuel and some ground equipment.
• USA get a convoy 42/07 USA get some AA from convoys and in 45/06 they get equipment for land troops.
• New bases in Australia, Japan, New islands, New off map bases.
• SCN 43 the same as 42 but Allied early war CV slightly advanced, Japanese slightly delayed. CV Saratoga, BB
California and Tennessee start at PH.
• Fixed potential bug with Nakajima Ha 45 Engine trying to upgrade to a slot that holds nothing.

Effect is early TT are not quite as good but mid war onwards are better. Accuracy and Chrome.

And... We are now at June 43 in the PBEM (2 day turns working well) and will continue to support the mod with updates from time to time these will be largely play balance to make the game as tight and as interesting as possible
Current score in PBEM are a draw for your info. There are a couple of HR on decisive victory ( Capture of Tokyo) , maybe modified as we we progress.
Happy to accept suggestions and modifications as we go.
We hope for more comprehensive and better patches for the new map - and a stacking limit map would be most welcome. It has to be as other mods will not be so often published and old mods not updated for the new map...we need to keep this superb game going.

Oh yah-oh yheah - seasons greetings!!
After another few months we will review play balance again, probably around November 1943
But here is a new update V2.0a, some of which I missed from V2.0 by virtue of losing my notes!
Link for download on the first page, did a lot of research over the last couple of weeks. Most of this is my best effort at a historical tidy up one or two bit at hypothetical but very much in line with the mod. where data differs I have used an average or when its very wild, go primarily back to stock - everything paying very well in out PBEM.
• V2.0 a.
• Corrected/removed CVE air groups placed on CA Pasadena 9/44. No idea where this came from - ghost in the
machine!
• Device/ Aircraft Tweaks - Play balance and cohesion.
• Ship Tweaks and a few corrections - Mainly French
• Added 2nd Pluton Class French CM at Tahiti 41/12/07.
• Increased HI Res in from 18 to 19. LI Res in from 15 to 16. Oil out from 10 to 11 - Play balance.
• Added a final modest upgrade, B5N3 Kate – play balance
• Remodelling/ more detail for most aircraft, naval and some SS Torpedo loadouts, after new research.
• Slightly reworked Japanese ASW – now slightly worse early war, slightly better mid 44 onwards and V slow escort ships
do not get powerful DC. You need the improved DD for ASW but you cannot easily spare them
