Looks like history is about to be repeated, on both fronts...

Note I just finished Death of the Wehrmacht by Robert Citino, which covered both Case Blue and El Alamein. Turns out that the Germans were much weaker in 1942 than most people think they were, esp. on the logistics side, but their operational generalship and well-trained troops made them look much stronger than they really were.

That's one thing I'm realizing watching that world war two week by week youtube serie I mentioned in my initial post. They looked in dire straits much faster that it is generally recognized.

Hi,

I saw from Pavia channel you have a game going on with him too! I have been watching it and I am chomping at the bits to see his point of view in our current game. But we have to finish the game first!

You can catch the war from Pavia Point of view in his youtube series: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... QFGU6Uqsyi

Pavia posts one turn a day (to keep Youtube's algorithm happy) so the videos do not cover the entire AAR yet. :)

November 1942

Singapore holds but is a drain on UK coffers. German troops withdraws to shorten their line has the soviet follow them in pursuit. Is the Wehrmacht fit enough to carry offensive operations?

March 1943

USA secure Algeria and Morocco. Indian troop land to take Palembang and the northern port, making a push to liberate the Dutch East Indies. Tobrouk and Benghazhi falls to the UK with Axis having evacuated most of Lybian front. Latvia conquered by the germans, the russians are starting to push out of Leningrad and Moskov.

Pavia and I are continuing to LARP WWII has the battle of Kharkov is about to start right on cue...

The axis resigned... The russian won the battle of Kharkov and the allies were about to land in Sicily... Unfortunately the windows screencap tool wasn't working when I loaded the last turn so I have no screenies. This is a bit anti-climatic but you can see the footage of the battle on Pavia youtube serie! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... QFGU6Uqsyi.

We are going to have a rematch mid-september so stay tuned for that. :)
