Hi, I knew Kongo and Haruna were not enough to face POW and Repulse (2 Kongos are the historic cover for the Khota Bharu landings) So I sent the 2 largest Japanese BB Nagato and Mutsu.
Bad as the battle was the TF kept the nasty British out of my transports.

Well, you have a titanic battle like last turn, and the turn after is usually like this - very quiet.

My bombers did have another go at Mutso and Nagato - both not seeming to have been smacked up too bad by their large calibre shell hits at all. Mog is sweeping the SRA slowly and methodically (POW and Repulse and several other allied combatants are going to rendesvous and recondense into a force big enough to handle Mog's screening combatants (also, they're rendesvousing with a destroyer tender that escaped the SRA, as well as a repair ship that has been racing to get into the game. Will be a few turns before they return.

Although I sank Kongo - that really wasn't the point. What needed to happen was for pow to evade the enemy ships and get amongst the transports. Singapore's days are numbered, but then, in the meantime I'm gonig to let my pilots spend every minute going after enemy transports.

Northern Malaya is still all mine and very secure. Mog's troops reached tavoy today. Bad sign.

In other news, I've launched a new and exciting op to try and take the war back to the japanese. I've called it Operation Heat-Rash. I've also got a secondary op in the planning department designated Operation Rancid-Breath. Will keep you posted as the war continues.

Another turn, another vicious night engagement, this time I lost.

not having any luck at Kendari - Mog's two bbs weren't supposed to be there when the Houston and her escorts swept into the harbour. Although my ships managed to outfox the japs for a while and landed a few hits (which did no damage) the japs caught and blasted two of my destroyers to hell and damaged the Houston badly enough to remove her from the immediate future.

Fortunately I have a secret port setting up extra repair facilities (AR ships) as we speak and i'll be doing some round the clock work on surface combat vessels around the place to get them back into the fight. Some torpedo reloads for my dds are also available as one of my AD (or maybe AVD?) ships escaped the SRA.

Mog bombarded a few places, and landed troops at Jimbi, the northern most base ni the DEI (up near Aceh somewhere). Palembang is next and there isn't much there to stop him.

In better news, my bombers arond the place are starting to find jap transports and have been peppering them left right and centre. Sure - none will sink, but there were at least 10-15 individual ships hit with bombs around the SRA last turn.

Hmmm is RN doing rather better in surface combat than it should or is just me

Or is Luskan just picking his battles carefully or being smart (or lucky).

ps that wasnt a complaint as my Grandfather served on HMS Naiad and im cheering the RN on every step of the way so while I aint overwhelmingly an Allied fanboy I most certainly am an RN one [:D][:D]

Mogami -

The AAR gives the impression that your transports are taking a fair amount of damage. Is the actual damage that they are getting causing you any problems yet in terms of reducing the numbers of ships you need to continue your advance?

Also, it appears that Luskan has been able to keep his Brit battle squadren away from your LBA, but close enough to engage your surface forces at night. I would have thought that your LBA would be able to prohibit that. Are you using your bombers for other tasks instead of naval attack?

Thanks -

Hi, My LBA has had trouble with weather. My TF's are exposed but the RN must have it's own cloud in tow. Hopefully We'll get them soon.

I think the Japanese lost 51 ships in the SRA historicaly. I'll try to stay below that. But 2 BB was more then I wanted to lose.

Revenge put 10 15 inchers through Haruna, Enterprise or Exeter put 1 shell into the Oshio's mag and she blew up like a firecracker, and when the tfs closed to 2000 yards (yes, they were hammering at each other with AA guns) Revenge got seperated from the action (left behind because she's so slow) and Mog's ships hit back hard enough to sink 2 CLs, and make sure that the Glasgow was a bright burning target for that sub - she'll be at the bottom soon.

I'm usually this lucky in games (one game in UV atm I've got no luck with) but now Revenge, Repulse, POW and their accumulated escorts will form a proper sized combat group and we'll see if I can't FINALLY get some of Mogs transports and drown his troops.

ORIGINAL: Mogami

Hi, My LBA has had trouble with weather. My TF's are exposed but the RN must have it's own cloud in tow. Hopefully We'll get them soon.

I think the Japanese lost 51 ships in the SRA historicaly. I'll try to stay below that. But 2 BB was more then I wanted to lose.

Ah, I didn't know that number of ships lost. So what is happening, other than losing the BBs, isn't out of line.

Thanks -
