Buin Falls, and Z lost lots and lots of planes, my point total just jumped over two hundred!
none of the cvl/cve that where hit sunk!
My planes again refused to fly! arguably a bitchie thing and the reason.. he attacked from longest range and my reaction was too low.. and this due to torpedo betty fear...

RE: History repeats itself, almost
I lost around 120 planes in the battle, but he lost a lot too. I don't think I did to bad considering there were F6F and F4U invovled in 4/43. I still don't get where the F6F is coming from. In my game with Dude they did not show up until 7/43, except on the CVE's that are there for replenshment. He took Laguna, but paid a price in ships. I only had a little force there and in the Island chain. He still won't come into the Bettie kill zone. I don't know why flak will kill them. I will put up some screens tommorow with score, plane lose, top pilots, count up some ship loses, and maybe some industry stats. I you are looking at this AAR and notice we are in 4\43, I play close to the way Japan did, with a few changes. I do not care to win by auto victory by taking China and India. that's no fun. I want to see how long I can last and at what cost it is to the allies.

Thats right auto victory! Z has been kciking my proverbial Butt!, but now he COuld not take India or China... no way no how.. too much there already.. and I hardly lost anything in that battle save some damaged ships and planes... soon two essex class cv's and more smaller cve/cvl coming adding a good deal to my force projection capabilities...
As almaost all Soloman bases are mine.. time to go north.. after a brief rest for some well earned rand r. and to kill off the remaining defenders at Lunga and Buin... I am not sure how the JAps can really hold anything at this point, but I am really wanting to kill some shipping too.. so reducing Truk is a top priority.. and then ????????
[X(]
here is the screenie that I mentioned above.. I had four cv groups and no attack planes flew against his attacking ships[:@]

I don't want to take them now, but I could have tried and maybe in late 42 or so. That is no fun, play and see how much better I can last than the real Japanese. He will hit my 1st zone soon, but that is not the fun one. It will come when he hits zones 2,3, and 4.

It is about mid May, 43, and I am within spitting distance of getting the score below 3-1.. yeh
Yesterday I launced a massive raid on Wewak-alot... 250 4 ebombers out of PM
only problem is the darned FOW won't let me know if I actually did anything worthwile or not.... and now that the Brits are getting some wellingtons and the Chineese are upgrading to B25's, I am making myself a nuisance in
China bombing a different port airfield on a daily bases.. today its back to Hong Kong.. love seeing the ships in port taking it in ****
Rabaul has been raided four or five time for MASSIVE damage... and where is the Jap fleet, safe and sound where it should be behing the Truk Palue Wewak line no doube.. soon the last stranglers will die at Buin and the push forth North towards Rabaul will begin in earnest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [:-] Beware an angry mob of planes.. now have 1500 or so in the area and they are cryiung for a chance to strike down the first CA/CV BB in 43 for my esteemed foe!

He hit Wewak hard with a ton of bombers. He took out 90 on the ground, but I put a real hurting on the heavies. I think the next day the Info screen said around 80 were shot down. I still take a lot of his planes down. But as we all saw in the real war he is starting to wear me down. Just like real life. There is not much I can do aganist raids of around 250 heavies. I really don't care how many planes I lose on the ground, I don't lose the pilots that way. The pilots are the most important things to me. He still has not hit the 1st defensive line yet with his ground troops. We will see how long I can hold out. I have a feeling that in every game when the allies get rolling it will be much faster than in real life.

My amazing forces keep dropping bombs and taking bases, but those darn nippos don't surrneder!.. I have cut the points above 3-1 to a slim 259 point edge, so soon this will dip even lower, and baring a catastrophic melt down by 44 jan I will have gotten it towards the 2.7 -1 or lower...
Tarawa is now fully inveted with multiple fleets there..... just wiating for the finale
Pushing North twards Truk, so hopefully will be able to begin operation punish... where the far eastern end of the empire will begin to fall, China is my favorite growth zone with lots of new planes getting to see some action, ledo road opening soon. RB and TK look too big, but maybe they should also be taken out... and then it the push North towards Borneo... I would attack in Indonisia now if I had the naval air for it... but in 44 I will be looking at cutting out the oil...
Tarawa falls... and we are quickly approaching June 43.. another midway?

Soon my marines will be counting the dead Japs at Tarawa instead of fighting, not too much left there.. Makin falls.. prep to drive North continues!.. btw I am less than 10 points from breaking the 3-1 barrier[X(] note that is of course Z is ahead 3-1 currently, but he had about 1500 points above that for awhile ... shudder[:(]
