She carried the war to the enemy with the Doolittle raid. A pinprick that gouged the Japanese pysche and had a dramatic effect on the war.

Besides, what cooler name is there than Hornet?[8D]

Wasp? Taking that little bitty flattop in harm's way with its thin skin was begging for disaster. Kinda like taking an Atlanta CLAA into a night surface action.
