High Visibility cursors (discontinued)

Post by Silvanski »

I switched to the cursors in JMAss' latest counter set, they're much nicer with their 3D look

Been messing around with and got inspired by the bright yellow cursors in Goran Wickstrom's graphics mod.

Can be handy in scenarios with high unit density.

Silvain;

Where can one get the red 'dashed controlled border' one sees in both this post and in your aar's? Would need both Tile and s_Tile versions, eh?

More interested in a s_tile.bmp than the large, for use during 'monsters'......

You can get it right here, rename the file s_Borders.bmp

Patch 3.2.29.26 Destroyed Bridge Tiles

Post by Curtis Lemay »

Patch 3.2.29.26 has a new feature that allows blown bridges to be more easily spotted. If the user installs the correct "Bridge Destroyed" tiles, they will show up as in post #4 in this thread:

tm.asp?m=1540648

The zip file that 3.2.29.26 installs in the Altgraphics folder contains one of those tiles (as a teaser).

I've attached the entire set here. They are suitable for either of the standard graphics sets that come with TOAW III. (Both the TOAW III standard graphics and the Classic graphics.) Put them in either the Altgraphics or Graphics folders.

Other graphic sets that have different road or rail tiles from the standards will need other bridge destroyed sets to be devised for them. You'll probably just have to stay tuned for a bit and they'll appear.

I sent JMass the destroyed bridge tiles derived from his roads/railroads mod...

but I got a little bent out of shape when they put out COW 3-4 weeks after I bought the WOTY, and my wallet just couldnt give in to another TOAW purchase then.

Thanks,
Rick

Yeah -- that was infuriating. They could have at least waited a few months. Being exploited is one thing, but to have my nose rubbed in it like that...

I mean, they must have had ACOW practically ready to go when they released WGOTY -- but 'hey, let's take a few people for an extra forty bucks.'

You mean Huge Map? Or normal 2D?

In the Huge Map View i'd say none looks very smart.. there is yet no special mod for the huge map view (nor for tiny or ultratiny).

Telumar,

Yes, I meant zoomed in so the counters and hexes look large.  Also yes, I meant 2D NATO-style counters.

I'm currently using JMass's mod and it looks good at the normal view (not zoomed in large).  But it looks grainy and pixilated (and the fonts look blurry) when I zoom in large.

I was just wondering what you guys who have lots of experience with these graphics mods thought the best graphics mod for zooming in large was.  I'm currently pretty happy with JMass's mod, but I would think about switching if there was a mod that looked crisp and clear (not pixilated and blurry) zoomed in large.

Telumar,

I like the concept behind your new mod.  Your hexes have a "natural" look to them.  How do the hexes and counters look when you zoom in large?

Thanks. If you like the natural look maybe also take a look at the classic toaw graphics that came with the game (start -> programs -> opart3 -> extras -> install classic toaw graphics). Well, for my Mod's huge map view it's the same like with the other ones.

Anybody know why the little flag for Greece doesn't show up like it does for Spain and other countries?
