No Declarations of war

Germany – Land
Italy – Combined
Japan – Land

No Port Attacks

An Italian Sparviero heads into the Eastern Mediterranean
An Italian Flying boat flys into the Italian Coast.

No naval movement

Does the British cruiser squadron in the Eastern Mediterrean want to get it on with the Italian torpedo bomber?

As Ormster is of line I am going to say no. The rationale is that there is nothing the Italians can do this impulse, and the Allies can bring units into the area next impulse to deal more appropriately with the Italian.

No Strategic Bombing

However I am going to need a response on the following:

1. The Japanese will attempt to ground strike Tsitsihar with a 3-factor NAV

USSR response by intercepting the naval bomber with the 4 strength fighter.

Meanwhile, back in northern Russia, a Stuka attempts to ground strike Soviet units in Pskov. Any response?

USSR scramble their fighter and send them to protect Pskov. If it survives it lands in Novgorod

Air to Air combat and the Germans have a big +2 advantage.

Round 1 (Allies throw first)

5 – AA The Allies decide to abort the Stuka (I took that decision for you Orm [;)])
11 – DC The Allies have no bomber to clear through.

As instructed the Soviet fighter returns to Novgorod.

That's annoying. Either there is a bug (unlikely) or I have $%^&ed up in saving between phases. The Soviet defensive fighter has not flown and I got no opportunity to bring the Japanese into counter [:(].

No harm done though, as the Japanese missed anyway.

That was a better result than expected. So now I expect really bad things to happen. [;)] [:)]

No rail movement

With the attack on Pskov blown out, the Germans re-arrange units south of the city. The mighty 7th Panzerarmee has now arrived in the line and prepares for an assault on Moscow (well that’s what Goebbels said on the radio anyway).

Meanwhile in China, the Japanese push into the mountains and set out to attack the enemy north and south!

In Manchuria, the Japanese tankette forces prepare to do battle. They have been warned about the presence of T-34’s but when you've got the Type 95, you know you've got the enemy in your pocket….

Without the + 1 the Japanese pull out of the attack in Manchuria - one Nomonhan is enough thank-you.

Instead there are just two attacks. One in southern China and one against Chisinau.

Against Chisinau the odds are 35:10 or 3:1

Damn I just realised I forgot to attack the Partisan.....

Ho hum - anyway, back to Chisinau, the Germans bring in no aircraft (they have one 4 factor fighter that can reach. Looks like the Soviets have three bombers and two fighters.

The Soviet Union support the brave defenders in Chisinau with the bomber located East of Kiev.

The Japanese bring in no aircraft as they should get 4:1 with fractional odds anyway.

In Russia the Germans bring in their Zerstorer to counter the Soviet bomber. Once again the Germans have a healthy + 2 modifier. Not sure why the Soviet fighters didn't fly?

So onto the land battles and its a 3:1 no modifiers against Chisinau.

and 3:1 no modifiers in China. What tables do the defenders wish to use?

Right - executive decision time. In the absence of Orm I am going to say Assault for both. The chance of disorganising the attackers on the first impulse has to be the driver here.

First attack is against Chisinau. The fractional odds make it 4:1 and the dice throw was a 10. The Germans are not disorganised and the city falls.
