No thank you.

The weather roll should improve France's chances of survival into 1941 or at least exact a heavier toll on the Axis.

I like that weather roll!

Germany is behind the schedule and they have used both O-chits. Looking good at the moment.

I'd like to get another unit into the CW northern bridgehead to replace Wavell. If France finally falls, I'll probably abandon Lille for Calais but take out any factories first. The Axis will have the dilemma of either committing units and time to take out the bridgehead or trying to pin it in place. The first option almost certainly delays a campaign in the east as it will take time and forces to do so. Losses will be critical and the garrison against USSR will be weakened. The second option doesn't lose units or take time but still occupies and diverts a pretty good number of forces from the east.

They may go for Spain (so I want to get a unit, preferably two to Bayonne) but I don't think their builds are indicating a serious move in that direction. The southern bridgehead would tie more units down to contain it.

They seem to be building ARM HQs. I think they plan to for Barbarossa. But I might be wrong.

One thing we need to reckon on is the longer France survives, it will delay US entry, which might not be so desirable in the Pacific.

Subject to how things develop, we may need to prioritise the Pacific for the US chits (leaving at least enough in Ge/It to cover a USSR DoW should the opportunity arise).

That's always the problem. If France survives longer, Uncle Sam will stay longer at home. But Uncle Joe will be very, very happy for every impulse the French capital stays controlled by the French.

Personally, I think the longer France survives, the better it is for the Allies. Don't forget: the CW will slowly become stronger and stronger on land and in the air, also in places like Australia and India...

And get a CW unit into Bayonne. If France gets Vichied or conquered, the oil becomes either Free French or CW oil.

I agree. I was sort of mulling over and thinking out loud about the consequences of continued French survival and what we may need to do as a consequence.

Of the dilemma's and choices MWiF presents, this is one of the more comfortable ones to be presented with but I don't intent resting on any laurels as a couple of good dies rolls in France for the Axis could rapidly change things.

Game 1

Not much to do.

Germany takes land.

Rail MTN from Bremen to Italy Ancona.

I need to do some land moves in Pyrenees for defense and Crimea preparing attack.

Italy will do a land so there are plenty of moves to play around with organising the defences in France and southern Italy.

Japan needs a combined to get the TRANS with HQ at sea back to Japan or Manchuria and the TRANS with the GARR to Truk. Disembark INF Div to Kwajalien and a couple of other land moves in Manchuria.

Now Manchuria has fallen and there are HQ's available, I'm wondering whether those units on the China/Manchuria border might be better used sending them inland to threaten the flank of the USSR units? They were protecting against a Chinese advance but that's a bit academic now.

About Italian land moves in France, can I do them when I move German units? I would like shuffle units so that divisions are in weakest hexes and AT guns where Allies can choose blitz.

Not sure about Manchurian situation.

Germany actually attacks this impulse in Crimea [:)]

Game 2

Attack stopped, looks good. France will reorganize defense with mand action.

I will move strongest INF to Paris waiting for attack. GAR moves towards empty Lyons.

It looks like France will survive this turn. But will it survive next turn? I doubt it. Also railroads towards the Bordeaux-Bayonne area are in danger of getting cut in the South. You have to decide now, if you want to have the CW defending Bayonne, it's now of never for Wavell to rail there...

Game 2

I think CW should rail Wavell now to Bayonne. Can London MIL stay where it is? Can I also ask to rebase Hurricane one hex NE from Rouen to leave round for French reinforcements (fighter is coming).

Is CW sending Glasgow MIL to mainland? If it goes to Boulogne it is safe and can easily to move same hex with London MIL if we get double impulse. Or are you planning to send it to Bayonne?

France land action, USSR combined.

USSR land moves (Just for your information, I can do them)
Lanchow MIL one hex SE to 76,134
Communist CAV one hex west to 71,138

In Lithuania Ski div 2 hexes west
In Poland 3-5 CAV one hex west
Mech from 55,53 to 53,51

This is how I plan France to look after this impulse. Let me know what you think about this.

5-5 MOT protects fighter
3-3 MIL covers hex so that Germany can't break through if they win inititative. France needs MECH and ARM to protect Paris.

I really hope turn ends. And if possible, I would like to start new turn to reorganize Paris defense.

Game 1

I can play tonight if you send instructions for Japan / Italy.

In addition to previous orders: Due to emergency in the east, Rumanian HQ rails from France to USSR 56,57 (SW of recourse hex).

Game 1

I have planned how to deploy HQs in France.

Italian ARM HQ near Marseilles, maybe in woods 62,30.
Italian INF HQ 63,25 to provide supply to western Pyrenees.
German von Bock in eastern Pyrenees 65,26.
German von Leeb in NW France 55,25.

That way all units should be in supply.

Next turn Germany builds INF HQ, it will go first to Bulgaria to provide supply if we attack next spring to Greece.
If your attack is going really well, it's an ambush.

Game 1, still working out what I want to do with Japan.

Game 2, I'll risk leaving UK empty by bringing Glasgow MIL to France. First Allied impulse of the new turn will have to be a combined to get Montreal MIL to UK. In poor weather, I don't think the Glasgow MIL would reach the hex with the London MIL in one impulse. It would have to start from Rouen but that's the hex you want me to move out of.

Rouen must be empty. CW can take another hex closer to shore next impulse/turn.
