Numero 13 and 14 to be decided tonight..... I think for no.13 its time for another bit of [adopts Barry White voice again] lurve..... The lead singer's range is just incredible on this track. There is a beautiful choral accompaniment toward the end of the song too. Ah.... happy memories too.
No.13 Room in your Heart - Living in a Box

No idea what the picture has to do with the song but it came up on google when I put the song title in so that's good enough for me [:)]

RE: What music are you listening to now?
The next track is really difficult. There are two contenders for this slot and I have to make the decision knowing the 'loser' probably won't make the 50 [:(]. That loser is the brilliant Beginning and the End (OMD). It's so beautiful I am going to put the link in anyway [:)]

After much thought, this wonderfully dreamy track, with male and female singers, a glockenspielly type thing running through it, and a wonderfully melancholy wood wind sound of some description, just gets the nod.

Maybe you reached your limit in songs?
At least with my preference, I can make music with my choices . . .

Play this puppy, compliments of a Memphis sound
CLARENCE "GATEMOUTH BROWN - BAD WEEK FOR OL' FIDDLERS
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_PqKdNh-MY
moro played most every show
everything west of typico
playing his fiddle to his son's banjo
teaching him everything that he knows
taking the lead on
his son been stealing the show
so now he's thinking of giving up the fiddle
and taking up his son's banjo
all through the bayou down to the gulf
things are getting hard things are things are getting rough
all the kids fast growing up
it's bad week for old fiddlers
morning still in abbyville awaiting the crawfish festiville
cats are eating the gumbo spills
waiting to hear the fiddlers bill
someone said old moro died
and his son's a one man show
wondering if he's gonna play father's fiddle or pick up his own banjo
fiddlers came from miles around
come to make their fiddling sound
eating some gumbo and drink some beer
raise some hell for heav' to hear
moro son on flat bed truck
really to start the show
and the evening crowd clap real old
for the son of old moro

RE: What music are you listening to now?
For my next track I am going to echo what Shunwick said above. Music plays to all the emotions and feelings and fun should be part of that. My next track isn't even on my ipod. Sadly in the PC world it probably can't be sold now.
But the lyrics are incredibly clever, the music is superbly put together and the video is fun! Heil-heil-ziggedy-heil!! [:)]

RE: What music are you listening to now?
For my next track I am going to choose another piece of music I don't even own [&:]. The incredible soundtrack to this film was never released, and the tapes are apparently no longer viable. It is considered uneconomical to re-record the pieces [:@]
This piece of music simply kicks one in the guts. I remember watching this film as a boy and crying my eyes out at the closing scene. It still has the same effect after all these years [:(]
No.16 Closing Scene from Operation Daybreak (Hentschel)

Sibelius Symphony Nr 4 - Esa Pekka Salonen
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCrGKQgFzDU
I love all of Sibelius orchestral works. The 4th symphony is a particularly dark piece, but so beautiful.
Chopin: 12 Etudes, Op.10 - No. 4 - Ashkenazy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXwmCxQi1bw
The Chopin etudes are mainly virtuoso pieces. They are designed to address various aspects of advanced piano technique, but are also musically rich. This is one of my favorites from this superb Ashkenazy disc.
Daphnis et Chloe by Ravel (sunrise) - Montreal sympony orchestra/Dutoit
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uDiT3uBDQU
This is basically musical porn [:)] The Decca engineers did a great job on the sound. It was one of the earliest digital recordings if I remember right.

Lori Lieberman's homage to Don McLean. It was not a huge hit for Lieberman. Roberta Flack covered the song a couple of years later. They even removed Lori's name from the writing credits.
